I stayed at the Fairmont Singapore for 3 nights on a recent business trip. I have found that Fairmont hotels specifically seem to only update some of their rooms and leave the others in their dated forms (you'll never see these referenced on the website). My room was unfortunately not a remodeled room which had it been clean would have been fine. There were stains on the walls and carpet and one of the pillows on the bed had a foul smell. Additionally the TV didn't work and the internet even when plugged in did not work (nevermind the wi-fi not working). I stayed for 1 night and insisted on a room change as I required working internet for my job. My next room was 100x better, remodeled, working TV and clean, but the damage was done and to be honest - I wouldn't press my luck again staying at a Fairmont as I've had a similar experience at other hotels in their franchise.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a remodeled room otherwise be prepared for a truly awful stay.

As hotels in Singapore become ever more expensive, it's important to choose a hotel that does well what's important to you whilst not paying for what you don't need. For us what's important in Singapore is a good bed, a luxurious but practical bathroom, a spacious and quiet room, access to fresh air, good views, tea and coffee making facilities, free wifi, a room that is always made up when we return and service that is professional and prompt but not effusive. In terms of location, the Bay area is where we want to be - Orchard Road is now just shops, noise and traffic. The wonderful 4km circular walk around Marina Bay is a great antidote to jetlag with its views, food courts and solar powered cooling fans en route and the soon to be opened Gardens by the Bay (end of June). We have stayed at the Stamford, the Pan Pacific and the Ritz Carlton (business trip) and would recommend the Fairmont above all these if you are paying yourself and your requirements are similar to ours. It's simply the best value of this group and with direct pedestrian access to Raffles Centre, City Hall MRT, City Link/Suntech and the Bay, a perfect location - you can get to all of these without going outside into the summer heat if you want to (but ask for directions unless you're good at navigating underground). Minor gripes re the Fairmont are the views are not quite as spectacular as some of the others and the pool and breakfasts not quite as luxurious, but it's also a lot cheaper. You get what you pay for in Singapore and this is a high value package for the personal traveller. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: a high floor reduces the ubiquitous Singapore street noise

Great Hotel. Located right above City Hall Mrt which have both the red and green line and linked directly to Raffles City Shopping Centre. Rooms aren't bad. Quite big and comfy. Quite competitive pricing against Swissotel which is located right next to it. Plenty of food available at Raffles City which is a cheaper option than eating in the hotel.

Room Tip: Join their loyalty program called Fairmont President's Club for free. As the most basic level wi...

Fairmont SG -- perfect location, several city attractions are within walking distance. Staff are very welcoming, ever on hand to assist. In place of credit card, the front desk has required S$200 only for deposit. Exceptional services, great amenities, O yes Nespresso machine in the room! And the hotel is right next adjoining Robinson's. Superb!

A really great place to stay. Having stayed in Fairmont hotels in North America in the past, it was an easy choice for us in Singapore. The rooms are very well appointed, comfortable and clean. Service is great. Location is also a great feature here right on the MRT station (City Hall if I remember correctly). Also, it's right on the Raffles City Shopping Complex. It has a nice food hall at the bottom and Skinny Pizza is a recommendation. Want to try local cuisine? The Food Republic on Orchard Road (Somerset MRT) has some fantastic stalls for traditional Singaporean food. Try the Oyster Omlette, Yang Tau Foo and Fried Carrot Cake. Another great eating place is the food hall at Suntec City and you can get some very reasonable prices for dinner from the myriad of restaurants there. We ate at the Crystal Jade Restaurant this time around. Great food and great offer of order 2 main dishes and get the third for $1.00 (you've probably guessed by now we go there for the food).

Getting back to the Fairmont Hotel, I certainly recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure. One tip is you can get some great deals on the accommodation websites as being a premium hotel, it is premium priced.

We've stayed in a signature room for 4nights.
Room: spacious and comfy with nice amenities but out dated.North tower)
Location: cant ask for better, linked to a shopping mall with lots of eateries from budget to expensive, shopping is good, easy access to MRT.
Breakfast: Prego.one of the prettiest and fanciful buffet spread Iv come across.
Overall service: As usual, the luck of the draw, u get the friendly ones as well as a few not so "willing to serve"ones.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the south tower, apparently they r newer than those in the north.

My wife and I took our three-month old daughter on her first overseas trip to Singapore and chose the Fairmont for our three-night stay. From the moment we arrived till the time we left for the airport, the staff at the hotel were flawless in their service, always rushing to help and best of all doing them with a genuine smile on their faces. The room was not the most generous in size, but is generously equipped with amenities unseen in hotels of this price range. The hotel is also located within a mall/office complex with an MRT station connected to it, making it convenient for travel.

We arrived by cab from the airport. With two suitcases, two rucksacks filled with baby-products, a stroller and a baby in tow, we were clearly undermanned. Not to worry, the bell boys upfront were quick and managed to secure all our belongings before we even stepped foot into the lobby. Entering into the lobby, we were greeted with a pleasant fragrant usually reserved for high-end spas. The gentleman at check-in was efficient and friendly, giving us an upgrade to a Deluxe Room, acknowledging our request for a crib and agreed to allow us to check-out at 2pm due to our late flight departure. Once finished, he escorted the three of us to our room. Bags were delivered within minutes and the crib came next.

As mentioned before, the hotel is connected to the Raffles City shopping mall/office complex. There were some high end shops, a food court and more importantly a supermarket. Since we had an infant, it was convenient when we run out of things like diapers and baby wipes. Also, since our schedule revolves around the baby, we could easily find food outside of the usual meal hours. We travelled around the city by cab but the City Hall MRT station is connected to the complex and from there, one could get almost anywhere in the city with just one transfer or less. Ultra-convenient.

We had a pool-view room but didn't get to use it at all but it seemed to be crowded at most parts of the day. I think the pool is also shared by the next door sister-property Swissotel which might explain the crowd. The room was not exactly spacious but it was well furnished. The bathroom had the full amenities, with toothbrushes, toothpastes provided, and the usual shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion. The room we stayed in also has coffee/tea making facilities and a Nespresso machine, my wife's favourite feature. There was a flat-screen TV but we didn't turn it on once during our stay.

When we were around the hotel, be it waiting for a cab or at the restaurant, the staff were always more than helpful. Seeing that we have a baby, they rushed to help load the stroller into the boot of the cab and during breakfast, made sure our table has enough space around for the stroller. Smiles and friendliness all around. When we asked the concierge to help us book a mini-van metered cab (Maxicab) for our trip to the airport, it was swiftly booked and even made sure that it arrived on time.

At S$248 a night including breakfast and free internet due to my President's Club membership, I think the hotel is a fantastic value. I highly recommend anyone visiting Singapore to stay at this hotel.
