From the previous reviews i was expecting something better than our 5 day stay last week. We travelled with 2 young children. We have stayed in some lovely places in the middle east mainly where we were treated really well and was expecting this to be the same. The deluxe double wasn't big enough so were given an upgrade to signature deluxe which wasn't much bigger but had an amazing view. Placed in our room the children were given some posh chocolates and a card saying hope we were enjoying the room so they are obviously keen to keep you happy. We had 2 queen beds. What i did find annoying is that we had to ask for our room to be cleaned, it was done the first day and then after that we had put the 'clean my room' light on by door but no one came next day so day after that had to call someone to come and do it. We had payed a lot of money i think for our stay so we should at least expect some clean towels and beds to be made. We also couldn't find anywhere to hang up our things, towels, swimming things etc, they really need more hangers in bathroom, definitely set out for one person or a couple. And what's wrong with a normal light switch instead of the electronic things by the beds, i found them quite confusing. Nespresso machines were nice bonus in room. We had the choice of 2 breakfast buffets, one in the italian restaurant, other by the pool, the pool had fewer choice so ate in the italian. There was a lot of choice but didn't think the cooked breakfast were anything special, the sausages were pink in the middle and there was only a small amount of other things to choose from in the cooked section. The children enjoyed the choice though and having fresh juices made for them and also a hot chocolate. A couple of days in and the staff already knew our names when entering for breakfast. The location was very good, right opposite raffles for a walk around their historic hotel. The MRT is right below hotel even though i felt taxis were cheaper for our family approx S$5 where as we had to pay MRT tickets for each one of us so it soon added up. Also below the hotel are so many shops and food courts. We had planned to try hawker markets but instead ate at the food courts below, some very modern, trendy and clean places that you struggle to find in perth. The 2 pools (one for children, one adults) are shared by the swiss hotel and at some times we really struggled to find a sun lounger, i also couldn't find any changing rooms by pools which found a bit strange. All in all our stay was ok, the rooms aren't big enough for families and i wasn't impressed by lack of house keeping. Would we stay here again? Probably not. But the location i don't think can be beaten.

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate you compliments on the hotel’s amenities and the convenience of the location. At the same time, we note your feedback on the housekeeping service, room size and the pool amenities. Please rest assured that we will follow-up with the relevant department to ensure that these lapses do not occur again. Regarding the room conditions, we will take that into consideration for future refurbishment plans.

Just to inform, all our guest rooms have to be serviced on a daily basis without exception. However, due to the high occupancy, the room servicing schedules at times extend into the afternoon though not later than 4:00pm. As well, we have a environmental program where linens and towels are not changed unless the environmental card is placed on the bed by the guest. We appreciate your feedback in any case.

Indeed, there are changing rooms on the swimming pool level, the male room is next to the poolside restaurant Alligator Pear and the female room is diagonally across the adult pool from the male room.

We look forward to welcome you back to Fairmont Singapore.

Great location close to everything and good size rooms and good facilities - however, internet not included and on expensive side. Still very good all round though.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Stayed 4 days in Aug ... No Internet so hotel falsely advertising and selling Internet connection in rooms. Stressful with technician in and out unsuccessfully trying to fix Internet. On second last day finally offered own room router. This time 5days in hotel, black moldy bathroom ... Worst experience .. Low water pressure in shower first night, next day only hot water no cold water in shower. Then told of current valve repairs ... So why not have courtesy to warn guests of repairs so jetlag guests like myself can make plans and appts according to when we can shower and get ready !!! Not too mention the relentless drilling going on all day with renovations ... You'd think the hotel have the decency to warn prospective guests before we prepay for rooms of all the drilling and banging. They didn't even warn at check in. Never stay in this deceitful hotel.was promised at check out in Aug that they would make my next trip better. It's worse.

Room Tip: Noisy drilling, dirty bathrooms, poor/no showers, slow Internet, staff lied about delivering a good...

I was very eager to stay in the Singapore Fairmont but I was quite disappointed, not to say it was bad but it was far from my expectations..
The hotel needs to be spruced up a little, one of the cabinet door was broken, the rubber lining on the sliding door to the balcony was hanging out, we had to shut the dustbin lid (in the bathroom) with our hands because everytime we would open it, it would get stuck, the commode was shaky, everytime we used it we felt it would fall off!! We shuld have informed them but when i did call them it used to quite late and we didnt remember to mention it that time. Wouldnt have thought much about all these things individually but all put together they added up.
One major problem for me was their pillows. This might not count as a problem for most of the people, but I have a neck and back problem. Called them 3 out of the 4 nights i was there complaining about the pillows and the back pain, they were just too big for me. I needed something flatter. It was a big disappointment for me that i did not have a single night of good sleep. They sent a feather pillow, which was v soft but again very big and therefore was of no help to me. The staff here is fantastic except for one i spoke to one of the nights. She was rather curt in informing me that they just have 1 standard size of pillows and they cant do anything more than send a feather pillow. She wasnt apologetic at all. I was really taken aback because the Fairmont is best known for its hospitality. All the nights here I slept without a pillow! The bed had a slight incline so it was some consolation.
Also being presidential club members the only benefit we could actually make use of was the free wifi, (We were with a 8 month old baby) they did provide us with a cot though which again we could not use because it had no bumpers.
The plus points for this hotel would be location and the staff. Location-It has an amazing mall, really nice eateries, a supermarket and a MRT station right under it!!! That spells CONVENIENCE for me!! Very close to the hotel there are nice restaurants clubbed together around a church! Its called Chimes. Orchard road is just 2 stops away! They have a shuttle service from the next door hotel(Swiss Hotel the Stamford) to the Zoo and the Jurong Bird Park. So getting around singapore was amazingly easy and convenient with a little help from the concierge.
Staff- other than the one incident all the staff is very well mannered well spoken and very courteous..
One more plus would be the thoughtfully made bathroom, with a rain shower, toileteries and anti slip mat.
On the wholw it wasnt a bad experience but Im not so sure I would return..

Pleased to say that we have stayed in Singapore many times on route from Australia to Europe and have always tried different hotels as the quality in Singapore is always so good. The Fairmont is one I would now return to as our recent stay was so good. The room was excellent, service, as others have mentioned, really is that good - all the staff are friendly and helpful and the doorman had a laugh with us each day which was great fun as there was no obligatory guest/staff protocol, just first class customer service. Breakfast room could keep half of Singapore fed each day - all you can eat literally !!! No need for lunch after sampling the huge range each morning. Location is perfect for getting around either on foot or the MRT which is in the same complex. We have stayed at other similar rated hotels in Singapore that, though very nice, definitely lag behind the overall rating we would give to the Fairmont. Highly recommend a stay to others visiting Singapore.

As others have noted, staff at this property just like in any other fairmont are of the best i ever experienced in terms of hospitality, responsiveness and attention (i was eg recognized by bell staff by name, just having fropped two regular black trolleys). What needs to be done here is of a major extend, the rooms need to be modernized, probably similar what their sister propeety raffles did. The rooms near the elevator provide for sleepless nights, and if your neighboring room is talking, you can hear that as well. The door to the balcony has an outdated closing system and as such lets in heat from outside. An update wouldprobably also save rhe owners money in terms of upkeep.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Everything about it was great, service, rooms, food, location, views. We were a family of 4 in a group of 10 and hotel staff accommodated us all, so helpful. We will b back.
