We booked 2 nights at this hotel on the way back from London. We had stayed at the Savoy in London (also run by Fairmont) and it had been a dream. So we thought would try another Fairmon Hotel expecting similar service whilst realising we not going to have the same type of hotel.

That was a mistake. The room was nice and the outlook lovely. It was In good condition and with a good bathroom.

The problem with this hotel is the service - around the hotel pool unless you chased someone for service there was none, same thing we found with front office / baggage people when we were leaving. Lots of people standing around doing nothing.

The room was not cleaned properly e.g. seeds from a nectartine the night before were still there the next evening.

The front of deak staff were vary average - we would ask for them to store valueables locked in bags in a locked room but they wouldn't. Actually the front desk person saif they would and then the baggage guy said they wouldn't. Because of this we had to walk around Singapore with our valueables for the day.

We came back later and the staff were mucking about with each other which did not look professional. I counted 13 people - about 8 at the desk and 5 related to luggage. All doing nothing.

Basically it was a nice looking hotel but with very average service. Service you would get at a Holiday Inn.

Stayed in Fairmont Hotel Singapore for 2N/3D with my hubby and daughter. Club manager was super welcoming, helpful and accomodating. The room was very well kept and everything was clean. We only expected to have a mini ref / mini bar, and the usual coffee maker in the room,,,but to our surprise we were provided with an espresso machine! And they always refill it with the Nespresso coffee. First time that I really experienced that even if i'd stayed with other 5star hotels at home and in other countries. Hotel staff from the front desk, restaurant attendants, etc..were always courteous and never failed to greet us or smile at us.

Plus points also on the hotel's location. It is very well situated in the heart of the business and shopping district not to mention that the MRT Station is just an escalator below the hotel. Adjacent to the hotel is a mall with huge clothing and dining selection. Definitely worth every penny spent.

I would not hesitate to go back and stay in this hotel again.

We have stayed at the Fairmont since it was the Raffles Plaza. The location is ideal for a short stay. On this visit we asked for a standard room with a king size bed. The room was so small that the wardrobe doors opened onto the bed. It was a very small room and the wardrobe was very difficult to use. The room had a desk and two chairs. The tea and coffee were in the middle of a long entrance hall. We completed a survey for the hotel on line and they did respond.
Would we stay there again? Probably not. Would we recommend that hotel? no

Room tip: If you book at this hotel see the room before you accept it.

This was our second visit to Singapore and i'm glad we decided to stay at the same hotel as we did on our last holiday. The Fairmont Hotel was an absolute delight in terms of location, stay and comfort. The staff are very efficient and inspite of it being the holiday season and the hotel being booked to capacity, our check in and check out were both done smoothly and completed in a matter of minutes. The hotel is very well located and the mall within the hotel has loads of eating options, which we found extremely convenient. We intend to visit Singapore again and no guesses as to where we"ll be staying.

As the taxi weaved around the drive, as I stepped into the lobby to be met by the stillness of an early morning and the bold brightness of the lobby, the Christmas tree decor and the smiles of the staff, I knew what a wonderful stay this would be. Completely taken aback by a room upgrade to a plaza view suite, my bags would be up shortly as i took all of it in. As the doors opened to reveal a fantastic room with a balcony off of the living room area and one off of the bedroom area, all mechanized with draw curtains for light control and sleep. Fantastic location, close to the Marina area for walking or the Mrt was right outside from the mall level area. Staff were incredibly warm, welcoming always ready to help with questions or to ensure all was well. This would be the natural inclination of the Singapore people! Food everywhere was tasty and awesome. You have to have the chicken rice and nasi goreng...good stuff! Famous Raffles hotel is directly across the street. Enjoyed everything about this trip, hotel, location! I can't imagine folks not enjoying themselves here and if they don't then they have to be soulless individuals.
