Simply put: I can not recommend it. Singapore has all the options and there are many far better ones. Sure, the staff is fine. But the hotel wins another prize: The one for the most dated and outlived architecture. You know there are places that were built 1880 or 1900 and they're still just wonderful. Unfortunately the post-modernism of the 80s doesn't stand the test of time and that's where Singapore's not so ritzy Ritz comes in. And if you're into colors, well, here's an opportunity to study which ones you shouldn't be using and how not to combine them. Check-in seems an issue at many Ritz-Carltons, they just seem to have too small check-in areas with too few staff. Not a good start for a nice stay having to queue. Apart from that the hotel does for some odd reason not participate in the Marriott Rewards System, so no points and no acknowledgement of your membership status. Anyway, I don't want to be too nasty, the views over the Marina are great (if a bit noisy) and if you can get a corner room, that's even better (and a tad noisier as well).
