There are two Pan Pacifics - which can be confusing. This one is on Raffles Bvd. and the other one is on Orchard Road - some distance away. We chose this for our return trip to Singapore on our way home to Australia. I organised it myself on the internet. If you do this you can get yourself a very nice package with options of airport pickup by private car, breakfast, late check out etc.and pay on arrival/departure. I opted for breakfast and late checkout as our flight was late evening. We were not expecting a great welcome as we arrived early am (7ish). However, the reception asked us to wait an hour for our room and sure enough it was available within that time. You often forget that the worst part of travelling - particularly on the long haul trips is that you might arrive several hours before the hotel can accommodate you and you are left to wander off and find something to do or collapse in the nearest chair to the reception desk in the hope that your constant presence will remind them you are still 'homeless'. Arriving early and finding your room available is a bonus. The rooms are not big but we had stayed at the Ritz Carlton on the way to the UK and I think this compares very well with that hotel and actually provides more in value. OK, we didn't have a view but do you spend your holiday looking out of a window? Dusk comes quickly in Asia anyway and the curtains are soon closed and the view is gone.
One of the absolute bonuses of this hotel is that you have access to several malls without having to walk outside in the heat. Follow the signs for the shops and you can walk all the way to the Raffles Mall underground: must be about 4 or 5 km. So, one might say that this hotel is a shopper's paradise if you have a burning itch to spend money.
The hotel amenities are reasonable: there is a very good gym which gives access to the swimming pool. Staff available if you have problems with the equipment etc. The downstairs bar is a little small but given the price of alcohol in Singapore you might not want to stay there all night anyway. Breakfast tends towards the Asian diet rather than the Western one but there again - lots of choice with personally cooked orders by available chefs. We enjoyed a late check out until 3pm and nobody disturbed us before then. In fact in the 32 hours we stayed at this hotel nobody bothered us at all which is a big improvement on the usual knocks on the door from housekeeping. Meantime, the bed was made and towels provided - all during our short excursions from the room. I would definitely return here again. Just one thing bothers me.....Lots of people may read this and there may be a very very long queue for early check-in!

What an amazing hotel!
I was upgraded to a room with Balcony with a stunning view of the Marina area.
Love it.

The staff at this hotel were terific, very friendly and professional, nothing was to much bother, the room was very tidy and clean, but did lack some storage space for storing suitcases. The Drinks in this hotel were extremely expensive like nost hotels we found, but to offer you a free drink of water at the pool, to then charge tyou nearly £3.00 for one at the bar which was smaller was a bit of a joke. the Tv selection was pretty poor and not many UK channelsThe Balcony area was by far the poorest ive seen at a hotel, no chairs or table and completely undercover, thought the view looking out at the new Marina Sands hotel was excellent. The hotel were excellent in offering us free interent for all are stay which was very handy. We tried the Hi Tein restuarant one evening on the top floor and the food was excellent, just lacking in a bit of atmosphere. overall an excellent and friendly hotel that was just let down by the poor storage and the poor balcony

We stayed here for the F1 grand prix. Location was excellent. We booked an executive room with a view of part of the track from the balcony. Very easy to get to the track & seats from the hotel, just a short walk. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room very clean and functional, not large but enough space and great views Bed was Kingsize and very comfy especially after a full day out sight seeing and watching the night race. Had tea and coffee facilities in the room. Good walk in shower and separate bath. Easy to walk straight into the mall for shopping or other restaurants. The hotel breakfast was good with plenty of choice but you could easily go out for breakfast too ( Sunday brunch at the Ritz Carlton was a lovely experience) This hotel represented very good value for money, not plush like some of the other hotels nearby but as we spent most of the time outdoors it didn't matter and we had a balcony which most other hotels don't have.

Having stayed here we would definitely return for a stay whether or not for the F1.

Maybe it should be called the GRAND Hotel, as it truly is rather grand. When you first enter you know you are guaranteed to be staying in something of a higher caliber than the similar rated hotels you might find in larger cities of the world. The Pan Pacific has very good facilitys and beautifully presented rooms with nice veiws of different sides of the city. The pool is a delight and the service from the moment you enter to the moment you level is a step above what you would normally expect. The staff are very polite and try very hard to not only meet but exceed your expectations. I would select this as my hotel of choice in Singapore. When I travel back to New Zealand again this will be the place I rest my head for a few days.
