Located very close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT, which has 3 lines passing through it, so can get to virtually anywhere in Singapore. Its at the end of Orchard road.

One temporary problem with the location is there is work for a new MRT station going on infront of the hotel. So there is no vehicular access to the front, but can get there via the back door. We were warned about the noise from the work, but luckily it never really bothered us much.

The one Noise which did bother us VERY MUCH was this: We were in room 504. And I presume there was a rather excitable bunch of youngsters in the neighbouring rooms, so there would be some disturbance every night. WHERE THE HOTEL IS AT FAULT IS THE SOUNDPROOFING. Every single sound from nextdoor, or outside was audible. Even the doorbell, of the next room, was so clearly heard in our room, that we mistook it for our bell too often. This was the biggest problem. It didnt help that there was a door connecting our room to the next, but was locked.

Staff was so so. The female staff at the reception were pretty grumpy. Restaurant staff were far more courteous.

We only had breakfast here, and it was decent.

Wifi was complimentary and had no issues what so ever, even supporting multiple devices with same login details.

One more cause of concern could be the EXTRA SPRINGY beds. They were far too springy and made it pretty uncomfortable to use them

The AC knob was broken and we seldom knew what was the cooling degree.


Over all, average stay, good for the location, nothing else was very appealing.

Good hotel in a convenient location - walking distance to chinatown, little india, bugis st and orchard road. Just round the corner from the MRT train. Breakfast was good something for everyone. Only issue was that Bencoolen st was blocked off due to road works, slight inconvenience but only temporary. Friendly staff. Swimming pool on the roof, there is also a washing machine for guests to use for a small fee ( i think it was $1) Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. I wouldnt hesitate to stay again and to recommed to friends. An extra bonus was that it was a non smoking hotel

Brilliant location (despite the construction of a new MRT station out the front, which is not their fault), great breakfast buffet and generally good room. A few issues though -
- I found an opened pack of condoms in my room
-the bath tub was grubby
- the fitness room (which was the reason I chose the hotel) stank of stale sweat and the ancient treadmill had a dip in it, making it unsafe to use.
- a couple of the receptionists were super-unfriendly, almost as if they were angry with me
- worst aspect though, was the inability of anyone from management to get back to me when I sent emailed and handwritten feedback.

There are plenty of other hotels in the area around the same price, I suggest people look at those.

We recently spent just 2 nights at the Bayview Hotel in Singapore. The hotel is adversely effected by the construction of the MRT right outside its front door. However we found the location to be ideal for us as we tripped around on the MRT which was easily accessible around the corner to the Bras Basah station. We caught the train in to Orchard Road one night and walked back to the hotel. It was a pleasant walk.
Breakfast was included with our package and it was a good breakfast with selections of cereals, yoghurt, juices toast and hot choices.
Reception staff were ok and there was no problem storing our luggage for us while we saw a bit more of the city after checking out.
There is a 7-11 right next door and around the corner you will find an Irish Pub where we enjoyed lunch.
The rooms are not as spacious as one might expect from the photo featured on the website but we had a newly refurbished bathroom which was adequate and clean.
There was some noise from the construction as our room was on that aspect but it did not bother us.

What a pain to access the hotel due to the MRT work in front of hotel also being directed to exit the MRT at Bugis and walk just around the corner to the hotel only to find its a long walk when there is a station just around the corner
Front staff was ok and was directed to our room
On entry to our room found it to be small and a very small bathroom with a shower over the bathtub
One of the beds had broken feet so wasn't great to sleep on
Pool area on roof was real nice but had some rubbish laying around from other guest
Dinner at the dinning room was not great not a lot of choice and the food wasn't replenished
Overall was just a hotel that is in need of some general maintenance

I came to this hotel last August with my sister and for the first we arrive we really felt not happy when the reception ask our passport likely want to angry with us without smiling.

I think, someone who work as a customer service will know how to serve the customer with the polite question or asking something.

The room is basic and average also the breakfast so many choice but the taste was average.
I think so many more choice of the better hotel in Singapore than Bayview Hotel.

The bayview is well situated in singapore for shops and sightseeing the bay gardens is only two stops on the MRT with Orchard Road shopping a short walk away.

Although there is construction work being undertaken out the front of the hotel for a new MRT station other than restriction to cars accessing the front of the hotel the works did not disturb our stay.

We stayed 5 night on a business trip so were out of the hotel all day but on return used the pool and the laundry facilities. The pool was clean and seemed well maintained.

The reception is like the rooms rather tired and in need of a refurbishment although the reception desk staff at all times were very helpful and arranged taxis for us each morning in a very efficient manner.

We ate only breakfast at the hotel which was of a decent standard Nd met our needs.

The room was tired and disappointing with the bathroom in real need of a refurbishment same for the bedroom furniture.

The bed was comfortable and provided a good nights sleep and the air con worked well two of the main requirements of a trip to singapore a good sleep,and good air com in the room.

I have one very big complaint my the smoke alarm in my room was missing from the ceiling had been taken down and never replaced I feel this is quite a big safety breach of a serious nature.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not over looking the construction work
