I spent 9 nights here and I have to agree with my fellow travellers, it is in an excellent location. Walking distance to great bars, restaurants and coffee shops and the taxi drivers know exactly where the hotel is located. The positives for the hotels, friendly staff, very reasonable breakfast included in the price (basic cereal, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, fried rice, baked beans, sausages and excellent ground coffee and orange juice) good wifi signal on lower floors, useful safe for storing valuables, the negatives, small room, uncomfortable bed, tiny bathroom, terrible wifi signal on top floor. Ideal hotel for one or two nights max, but anything longer I suggest finding a better quality hotel in a cheaper area. Keep in mind the taxis are very cheap compared to Australia...S$5 to S$6 for a 10 min trip...awesome

Room Tip: Lower floors are starting to be renovated, from memory third floor has been finished.

just enjoyed a 10 night stay at this hotel. really enjoyed it. it is in an ideal location, right by the river and a short walk to Clarke quay which is where all the night life is. there is a good food court at central shopping mall which is very cheap. our room at this hotel was a little bit tired but it was clean and tidy and very quiet. the breakfast has a limited choice of food, but what they had was very good.it is close to the mrt station which is the cheapest way of getting around.we would definetly stay at this hotel again.

occupying the two adjacent room in upper level of the hotel, was great, the panoramic views during day and night was great since we are facing the boat quay, clarke quay centre,Size of the room doesnt matter to me since we are here to explore not o stay in the room, but the toilet too tiny to enjoy your bath, good pressure of warm water, breakfast since they have a standard one only in our four day of stay they serve us the same one from the previous morning, since theres a lot of a multi cultural aeteries and restaurant arround the corner,we try to have our meals on their viands which is one of our intention as a whole no regrets for a travelers tourist on a budget

Room Tip: Size of the room doesnt matter to but the bathroom were you can enjoy the shower as the other review...

Was in Singapore attending a wedding and we booked a 2 night stay here because of its convenient location next to Robertson quay (plenty of eateries & watering holes). As tourists, we would prefer to limit moving around in a taxi for food or drinks as much as possible.

The room we got was tiny & the bed dominates the room. There really isn't anything else to share about the room except that its small & comes with a ridiculously tiny bathroom (similarly sized as airplane toilets). Taking a shower was an ordeal! I see no point in recommending this hotel to anyone unless this is what you are looking for.

We chose this hotel because of the location and because of the price, since Singapore is awfully expensive. To be honest, I didn't have any expectations, at all... I knew what we were going for, but hoping that it wouldn't be as bad as the reviews say.

As expected, the hotel was terrible, despite the fantastic location. The room was incredibly small (As a regular traveler to Japan, I have stayed in small rooms, but this was beyond ridiculous), the bathroom was in poor condition.

The breakfast was not any better. The restaurant is very small and doesn't have space enough to accommodate a lot of people at the same time. So you have no choice and stand up until someone finishes to eat.... The buffet was so poor, it felt like a cheap cantine... Terrible.

The service from the staff was not any better. All the people we encountered had a "I couldn't care less" attitude. However, it seems like it is quite common in Singapore as far as I have experienced.

All in all, avoid this hotel.... or simply avoid Singapore. There are much better cities in Asia with better value!

What a waste of a great location - from the depressingly dumpy lobby to the jail cell-like rooms with tiny, uncomfortable beds made for midgets - they could give it away and you would still feel cheated. You come away thinking whoever runs this sad excuse for a hotel just doesn't care - give this one a big miss!

I am surprised with all of Singapore's continual upgrading, why did Robertson Quay Hotel dip out in the list of upgrading ? This Hotel should be torn down and a new one built in its place. I am sure it had it's time/day, but that was probably 30 to 40 years ago or should i say 100 years ago when people were smaller. Breakfast was so boring and uneventful that we did not rush to get there and only ate because it was included in the room rates, now i know why. Would not stay there again and would recommend anyone with half a brain to not stay there also. And the owners should not bother doing any more of the so called renovations that they are doing, because painting only cannot repair or cover up all the other negative quirks this Hotel has to offer
