This was my first trip to Singapore I was on business tour with my partner. We landed on Changi Airport and tour operator picked us by cab to the hotel Albert Court Village which was just at 20 minutes distance from the airport. We were already had our bookings in the hotel as we had booked a wonderful low cost tour package from Antilog Vacations who r very reasonable for sin/mly tourism across the world.

We were welcomed with smiling faces which provides very good first impression of the hotel. Our check in process was completed quickly and we were accompanied to our rooms on the 5th floor.

Highlights of the hotel:
1. Hotel is located in the Bugis area, a 5 minute walk to little India metro station. So the rest of the city is easily accessible from the hotel.
2. It is located in the main business hub of the city.
3. Sim lim square an electronic shopping centre is just few meters from the hotel, here you can shop any electronic item at very reasonable price.
4. Hotel outlook and style reminds you of old charm.
5. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. They were very eager and knowledgeable. They help us in guiding the city. 24 hours they provide active service to all guests. Their devotion and serious towards their work is appreciable.
6. Rooms in the hotel were quite spacious. Room had large comfy bed, LCD TV. But not only this atmosphere in the hotel was rare, the court yard was fantastic and particularly with Christmas decoration.
7. Breakfast was little disappointing. There was no choice for breakfast and it was very crowded in the restaurant. They should increase the size of their restaurant.
8. Most of the time we had our food outside the hotel so didn’t tried the dinner and lunch at the hotel.
9. We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and had a comfortable sleep.
Highly recommend this hotel in the area. It’s a good budget hotel with great hospitality.

Room Tip: no idea to be honest, we stayed at entry level room

We booked a club room for a night but was quite disappointed with the room itself. We were in the 2nd floor. The lift was too slow considering there are only 2 floors. Coming out of the lift, we already saw the dirty carpet in the hallway and there was a bad smell. The room was spacious and clean but felt gloomy, there were toiletries, our window was overlooking the courtyard and restaurants. In short we didn't feel we were in a club room. In fact the club lounge felt more comfortable.

We had our cocktails & some snacks in the lounge. There was a huge tv, 2 mac PCs and comfy seats. We had our dinner at the Albert Café, the food was nice I should say.

We were there on new year's eve so probably that's the reason why we couldn't sleep. We can hear the people downstairs from the restaurants, we could hear the guests at the hallway who were talking & at some point shouting. We could hear the banging of doors.

I commend all the staff who we came across with. They were all friendly & helpful, from the reception, to the staff at the bar & lounge, even the one who arranged our bed. We requested a king bed but the room given had twin bed so we had to call housekeeping (which was a bit annoying).

Location wise I have nothing to say, it's very convenient.
Quite frankly, I would prefer staying on the hotel beside it. Though room is not as big but it's very comfortable & homey. And the lobby plus hallway really smells good!

After the 'no-sleep' experience, I requested for a late check out. It was declined all the way and to think I was just asking for an hour.

I don't think I'd come back here.

Dear Chopeta,

Thank you for taking your valuable time to write this review to provide us with feedback to improve our products. We are sorry to hear that we are unable to meet your expectation during your recent stay with us.

The carpets along our corridors are cleaned and shampooed regularly but due to wear and tear it has taken on a rather tired and dirty look. We are constantly improving our product and service and in 2013 we will be replacing these carpets.

I would like to assure you that we would have gladly extend to you late check-out if not for the fact that we were experiencing very high occupancy on that day. I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We hope you will give us another chance and we will ensure your next stay will be different.

Stay Village. And discover.

Yours sincerely,

We stayed for 4 nights and having arrived early on 22nd morning, we were immediately assigned a room without any waiting. We did ask for a change in room to the lower floor which was done as per the time the front desk committed. Every time a request was made to the front desk, they made sure that our comfort was of paramount importance. Whilst the room was slightly small for a family of 3, but the ambiance outside was quite soothing...green foliage and a water fountain. Christmas decorations outside the hotel was nice and livened up the feel-good atmosphere.
The breakfast spread was ample, good quality and had variety suiting all nationalities. The team/cook serving breakfast too were quite friendly and engaging.
The hotel is quite close to Little india and the MRT - so going around town was a breeze! Choosing the right hotel gives the right start to a great holiday and we were glad to have chosen a hotel that put 'service with a smile' as their motto.
Overall a highly satisfying experience, well worth to recommend all families to consider for their Singapore trip. Our thanks to the staff at Albert Court Village...please keep it up! Mahesh S Rao

Room Tip: Please select the first floor as has a nice green foliage and are quieter than the upper floors.

Although this hotel is a budget hotel it was clean, comfortable & well placed for sightseeing, my only real moan was the staff. I have never stayed anywhere with such surly staff.

I dreaded coming back to the hotel at the end of the day & it should not be like this, maybe this was not the norm but I can only review what I experienced.

Albert Court Village Hotel
180 Albert Street, Singapore 189971, Singapore

The Albert is a clean and friendly Budget hotel.
The location is good 100 metres away from Sim Lim square an electronics Shopping centre.
The new Bugis junction mall is within walking distance and so is little India and China Town.

The style is dated but full of old style charm from the foyer to the on suite.
Hotel staff is very friendly and eager to please.
The buffet breakfast is the standard budget style with plenty of choice and is reasonably priced.
I will go back again because of the location, helpful staff from the front desk to its concierge.
