“Lovely hotel, but had a big fight to get free Internet access. Take your proof with you.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2009

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in December 2009, choosing it over other top Singapore hotels mainly because it is a member of Preferred Hotels, membership of which offers free Internet access at participating hotels. When we asked for the password to obtain free Internet access the reception staff said that this wasn't offered. I suggested that someone come to check our paperwork from Preferred Hotels that mentioned this. The staff member came and took a photocopy of this and agreed to comp the S$29 daily charge - very high compared with our experience of free Internet access in most hotels in Asia.

Loved this hotel to bits! We had a loft suite and from check in, everything was perfect. The Loft Suite entitled us to certain privileges at the Straits Club, so we were constantly popping in for champagne breakfast, tea and cocktail hour. Food was great and service was top notch, excatly what you would expect of a 5 star hotel. We were greeted every step of the way and nothing was too troublesome for the hotel staff. The room itself was also a nice touch. Very very comfortable beds, spacious toilet with bvlgari toiletries and also complimentary TWG teabags and a nespresso machine. We had a massage at the spa - not bad at all. We also spent some time at the infinity pool overlooking the Victoria Concert Hall - the view itself was worth the experience. Usually, when we check out a hotel, we will also make it a point to check out the surrounding areas but in this case, the hotel was such an oasis of relaxation that we didn't even bother to venture out.

Will we be back? Definitely! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already planning our next visit back!

My wife and I decided to pay us a treat and spend one night in the Fullerton on one of their local promotion for the Singapore residents. The package included a bottle of wine, 2 wardrobes, a 3 course meal in your room, and a breakfast. It was a little expensive, but worth the experience I think.

Our room was smaller than I expected, however this is an old building so it was ok. The balcony could have been better furnished, but the view was superb, right on the Singapore river.

Breakfast was amazingly good, and the hotel itself has a special cachet, and alot of charm. Beds were comfortable, meeting the expectations.

Overall good experience! Worth the try!

Sometimes a hotel is just as a means of accommodation in a place you come to visit. The Fullerton is not that hotel. From the beginning, stepping out of the cab in front of an incredibly imposing building and entering a truly stunning and equally imposing lobby, you know you are not in an ordinary hotel.

The rooms are not large, but the bed- the bed is spectacularly world class- massive and so very, very, very comfortable- it was not easy getting out of it in the morning. The bathroom is extremely roomy as well- as bathrooms go.

But what sets this hotel apart is the service and ambiance of the place. The concierge is amazingly and most thoroughly helpful and knowledgeable. On the second day forward, the restaurant staff knew our breakfast juice and coffee preferences. Service is fantastic. Overall, the staff is extremely attentive without being obtrusive.

The breakfast is wonderful- and incredible array of items prepared freshly and fresh squeezed orange juice by the bucketful. If you are there on a Sunday, the brunch is absolutely not to be missed- pricey is may be at S$150 a head, but if you can stand the pain of your own gluttony, it is well worth it. Not your normal buffet, but fresh oysters on the half shell, lobster, tiger prawns; excellent sushi/sashimi; unbelievably good curries, and on and on- all washed down with lashings of Taittinger champagne or spicy bloody marys. My wife insisted on the chocolate buffet on Friday and Saturday evenings, but save your money and go to the brunch instead- all that chocolate shows up there as well.

Location is good if you like shopping- 8 million malls within walking distance, though the Central Business District gets a bit quiet at night.

We stayed in this hotel after several weeks of fairly intensive traveling, so were more inclined to just laze around. We picked an ideal hotel to do this- and after 5 days were sad to go.

I have read some of the negative reviews of this hotel, and know that one bad experience can spoil the whole stay. We were fortunate to have not had such an experience and can say that though the rooms are very nice- and not especially fantastic, the overall experience of the service, the wonderful lobby, the breakfast and brunch was from beginning to end a real treat. We would stay at the Fullerton again.

Almost pointless reviewing this hotel... it gets great reviews across the board!
I was here for 8 nights on business, and from the moment I arrived I felt like a star. Check in was personalised and friendly. I was given a room on the executive club floor so I had complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapes included. What a treat!! A glass or two of champagne before popping out for dinner!

Room was huge. The bed was massive! I felt like Alice in Wonderland climbing up onto it. The pillow menu was fabulous. My room though looked out over the internal atrium, so basically I never really opened the curtains. I was there for business though, so not in my room much (unfortunately!) Internet is payable.

Bathroom fantastic with Molten Brown products. Nice touch.

I used the gym a few times and found it to be very well equipped with 4 treadmills, bikes, cross trainers and even a spin bike. Lots of freeweights and space to stretch. As soon as someone finishes using the equipment somebody comes along to clean up. There are no windows though, and humidity is still high despite aircon.

The pool is a dream. Proper infinity pool overlooking the Singapore river. It doesn't get the sun until about 11 am though (left hand side when you walk onto the pool area) and by 1pm the sun has moved so that it only hits the right hand side of the pool - where unfortunately there is only room for about 6 beds. That is a handy hint if its the sun you are after!!

I didn't eat in any of the restaurants but I did have bar food and drinks in the Post Bar. There is a great terrace area which is beautifully lit at night, so you really get a feeling for the grandeur of the hotel. The mini burgers melt in the mouth by the way.

Hotel is right on the river and about a 5 min walk to most of the financial business area. It is also a 5 min walk to Boat Quay with lots of bars and restaurants (including, oddly, a bar dedicated to Manchester United)

Can't say enough about the quality of this hotel and the great service. It is actually a bit understated in some ways I guess... which just goes to show its pedigree!!! Its not flash.. it is pure class.

Would recommend to anybody!
