Amazing plants and trees. Beautiful lake with huge lilly pads, we even saw a kingfisher. Tropical flowers and ferns . Fab.

“Wonderful”

I love the Botanic Gardens. A beautiful place to escape the city, especially near the lake. Great place to bring the kids to run around. Just remember it is very hot and often rains, so come prepared. Lovey cafe there also. Highly recommended.

“Great Parkland containing the thai orchid garden - Dont miss them!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

We took the metro on the Circle line to the Botanic Gardens station - couldn't be easier!

The gardens are great, very pleasurable to walk round at leisure - though obviously hot at peak time during the day.

The Thai orchid garden was within these gardens and fantastic - don't miss it. If your backpacking the Thai orchid garden is very cheap and the Botanic Garden is free.

We expected to spend a couple of hours here, but stayed for the afternoon - headed to Little India on the metro for dinner after.

We had lunch in the botanical garden also, which was reasonable to above averagely priced, but if you're on a budget you could bring food / picnic.

“Perfect way to spend a day”

I couldn't believe it was free. We spent all day here, wandering, eating, lying on to grass. It's peaceful and beautiful and so worth the visit. Beautifully cared for

“Peaceful”

If botanical gardens are your thing then it's a must see while in Singapore. If this is your first trip to Singapore then I would not recommend it on your first day because the heat and humidity is taxing and you might not enjoy it as much as if you acclimated yourself first. Plenty of greenery and a large variety of information.
