“not bad and clean but still no..”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

The hotel is in an old building, but it has been partially refurbished, but when you enter into the building you can smell that its an old building.. There is always something something stinky close by. The rooms are small (but bigger the most rooms in other hotels) and clean with very basic furniture. Because of the traffic it is noisy and light is coming to the bathroom all night (as on my room there was no window, only in the bathroom). It is far away (15-20 minutes walk) from both MRT stations, so it is not very convenient if you want to go around the city. There is good quality/price ratio and its not a bad place but still i would not like to return to this hotel, as it is very hard to relax there. Singapore is a great city and its is clean with a lot of green areas in public places, but if you go to this hotel you'll have another impression.

Was only here for one night and knew that this hotel might not be the most comfortable place in Singapore. The room itself was OK for one or a few nights, size wise the double room seems bigger than rooms at 1927 or similar hotels but not many power sockets. Breakfast was good in the cafe downstairs

What let this place down a bit was the hallways can be noisy late at night with people coming and going so I didn't sleep at all well. The hotel is very close to the bar strip of Little India and the people hanging about the hotel the day looked like perhaps they were regulars in the bars and the hotel if you know what I mean!

Room Tip: Either a high floor or at the back of the hotel

Hotel is very old but the rooms are clean and the bathrooms offer enough space for a single person. Around the corner are several very good places to eat and two MTR stations are also reachable after a couple of minutes footwalk. To sum it up, I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends, which are planning to visit Singapore and have to watch their budget.

This hotel is value for money, right opposite there is 24 hour food court.
The bus stop in front will being you to City Hall, Bugis, Orchard, etc.
It is close proximity to Lavender MRT and Farrer Park MRT.

Highly recommended.

I always do not like to stay in ‘old’ style as prefer those modern boutique types. Due to the price is very reasonable for a hotel in Singapore and the location is near to Lavender and Bugis area, so I decided to give it a try.

Basically I like this hotel as it is actually quite unique in term if interior. Some of the wall and floor tiles are the original. Standard is bit small, but that is the price you pay, so no complaint. It is actually fine to stay a person, but if you stay two, it is actually fine too as long as you do not have many luggages as the space is limited.

Location is great, a bit distance from Lavender MRT which need to walk around 10 minutes. In front of the hotel is food court, you will able to find many local foods there.

Yes, I will stay in this hotel again when next time to Singapore!

You pay for the location!! Close to little india and fairly close to the MRT.
The room is a small, like most hotels in Singapore. But it fitted our suitcases and even the baby's stroller. They don't provide baby cot though!
The bathroom is on the outer side, so you can open your window from the bathroom, so funny architecture ! I noticed that it's an old building, but somehow well-maintained.
The hot shower worked well, and we had to switch on the AC all night long otherwise it's so hot.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street are SO NOISY !

This hotel is located close to Lavender and Farrer Park stations and they are around the same distance to walk. We found the staff to be helpful and they checked us in quickly. We were expecting the room to be a matchbox after reading the reviews on here but it's really not that bad. Perhaps if you travel with many items of luggage it could be a bit of a squeeze. The bathroom was of a good size but right by the noisy road which seems to be in use 24/7 so for those late night trips it could certainly wake you up! There are no curtains in the rooms so the light could make sleeping harder for some - not for us! The bed was cosy and the room was clean which is all we wished for really. The plus side was having a lovely retro charm and being right across the road from a 24/7 hawker center. Beware the stalls in the hawker center may try and rip you off! The food was really good though! If we wind up in Singapore again we would happily stay again!
