I have stayed at the Parkroyal on Pickering overnight 3 times now on business trips. It's a very large Hotel and therefore I suggest you upgrade to the Orchard Club for a more personalised service and avoid the crowds.
With each stay our room has been clean and quiet with THE most comfortable bed and pillows. My only criticism would be in as an eco friendly hotel is why there is no natural venitlation in the rooms. You cannot open any windows and therefore must rely on airconditioning which is somewhat frustrating and feels slightly claustrophobic. With so much greenery infront of your window, it would have made sense to be able to feel the breeze in the rooms which you do in the outdoor corridors that the rooms are situated off of.

It was just one night, but was worth it. Hotel is very green - inside and from the outside. Rooms very well equipped and spacious. Excellent breakfast, good location (across the street there is a huge and convenient shopping mall), amazing infinity pool.

This was my second stay, and I was not disappointed. The location offers a great mix of being within walking distance of the Raffles Place business district (new high-rise Singapore) and Chinatown/Amoy Street/Tanjong Pagar (old low-rise Singapore), so great if you don't want the more sterile or touristy areas of the CBD or Orchard Road. Immediately next to the hotel is a decent-sized shopping mall which has all needed amenities (7-11, nails/hair, massage), numerous food outlets (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Western, fast food, etc) and retail stores.

The rooms are very well-designed with large open windows (though the rooms look back into one another so one needs to be aware of privacy issues) and good use of sliding doors to integrate the bathroom. My room was on the six floor which has a large ledge with lots of plants/trees on it (large enough for maintenance people to wander around on during the day).

The infinity pool on the fifth floor has a fantastic view overlooking the adjacent park and city. Only drawback is that the gym is not particularly large and does not have a wide range of equipment.

We booked a staycation (2 rooms) on 14 june 2014. Left the hotel disappointed. 1 of the room clean and nice but other room looked like work in progress (i have taken photos to justify) - ladder in at area with a hole in the ceiling.. sighx.. It took the staff more than 30 mins to react to my complaints. Benjamin and another manager came to our rescue. They did apologise and gave us a bigger, better rooms which we are of course grateful to their kind gesture BUT till now my initial reservation charges are still held by the hotel. I saw 1 charge on my card for the rooms and 1 pending charge for the reservation of room which the card issuer said that they could not anything and we must call the hotel on our own and asked them to release the fund. We called last sat (exactly a week had gone by after our staycation) - the staff QB said she will see to it and get it released. Till now at least 30 mins ago, i called the card hotline .. they said it is still held by the hotel. I called the hotel again and got transferred to Mike, who i was told an op manager, he said - actually insisting it has been released and he will check with the card issuer. Hello who should i trust?? Anyway Mike has kindly offered to follow up with the card issuer. We are now hoping it will be resolved soonest. Anyway at least to us, it is a super disappointing stay.

The hotel design is outstanding, the room are clean and comfortable and of course, reasonable size. I love the big big windows which makes the room feel even bigger although the view is just facing commercial buildings. The check-in time is reasonable but not a fast one, and missing welcome drink for us...

Dear h817, it's always a delight to hear from our happy guests. I agree that the floor-to-ceiling windows do a very good job at amplifying space. They also help let in more natural daylight, thus reducing our reliance on lighting and energy during day-time. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us and we hope to welcome you back to our hotel-in-a-garden soon. Gino
