“best hostel in singapore”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

this hostel is in a great location in little india. close to bus stops and mrt. does not take long to get anywhere. the staff at the hostel are friendly and very helpfull. the hostel offers a free push scooter tour every couple of nights, very good and fun tour, shows you alot of singapore city. accomodation is comfortable, although if you not a fan of the heat, they only turn aircon on from 7pm - 11am. free breakfast is nice aswell. and there is a 7/11 right next door, very confienient.

The hostel is really nice, good location. Close to the little india station. The breakfast is nice as well. If you dtsy there you can do a scooter trip around the city. 6 hours in a scooter with a guide. Completelly FREE. The best what I did in Singapore.

In the heart of Little India this is the most economical place to stay. It’s also a short walk to two MRT stations. I found the staff very pleasant, helpful and informative. It’s kinda hip and they’ve got all the bases are covered. The free breakfast of toast and coffee also includes 2 boiled eggs. Wifi in the common area ws good but none in the spacious dorm rooms. The washroom area is very tight and there aren’t enough outlets in the dorms. But this is still the best value going for $20 when cramped 4x8 musty hotels rooms nearby start at $60.

If you are looking to experience some of the best Indian food anywhere and Little India lifestyle and culture, there really isn’t a better spot. The free guided foot scooter tour appears to be big hit and I’ll be sure to take them up on it next time I’m in for my Bali visa run.

Room Tip: They sell electrical outlet converters cheap.

To be honest, my friends and I came here with low expectations. We booked two triple room worth $79 each. However, our perspective changed the moment we were greeted by the staff. They are very nice and helpful.

The rooms were quite comfortable, at least for us with a tight budget. The mattress was perfect (not too hard or too soft). Compared to the dorm, you can always charge your gadgets at your own convenient in the room.

Their luggage storage is quite pricey as it wasn't actually stored in a closed place. All the luggage were put behind the small space of the counter. Perhaps, they won't even realize if you left your luggage without paying the $3 fees (I don't know).

Overall, I have a good stay in the hostel. I would definitely come back to try the scooter tour!

Room Tip: Choose room instead of dorms if you traveled with group

I stayed in this hostel with a group of friends and had a brilliant time! It's right in the centre of Little India which has a great atmosphere! The dorms aren't too crowded and you have your own locker. Only problem, there are no plug sockets up stairs in the dorms, so you have to leave your phone charging in the reception. Would recommend though! - very cheap!

Extemely value for money hostel. Dorm rooms cost around 20 dollars (singaporean) and have a/c ,includes breakfast (until 12 o clock!) and all the hostel is extremely clean. Apart from that there is free wi fi, and even a free scooter singapore tour!

Location is not the best but anyway if i return to singapore i would go back to this place

As my primary accommodation choice for Singapore no longer has dormitory-style rooms, and the fall-back option was undergoing a renovation, I turned to the guidebooks for advice. The InnCrowd got good reviews, so I tried them out. At SGD20 a night, I was skeptical and, in turn, pleasantly surprised. The ten-bed mixed dorms do not have that often claustrophobic feel to them.

The hostel itself is well maintained and clean. My only gripes are that the aircon in the dorm rooms is switched off between 1100 and 1900, and there are no power points in the dorms- so you're competing with the rest of the hostel to charge up your devices in the common room.

Staff are polite, accommodating and knowledgeable. The free breakfast is a good selling point, even if it is just boiled eggs, toast and jam, tea and coffee. Free food is free food!

Dunlop Street is convenient as a location. Bugis and Little India MRT stations are close, as is the Rochor bus terminus for those coming in from Malaysia. The cornucopia of Indian cuisines is right on your doorstep, and the Prince of Wales pub is in the same street.
