The InnCrowd Hostel

being stuck in singapore for an extra 8 days because of the ash problem i found the staff at inncrowd very supportive and understanding.infact their dtermination very much helped me get an earlier flight ehen i almost ran out of medicine.
the place itself is rightly popular with budget travellers and very well run and i would not consider anywhere else in singapore after my previous stay there.
excellent value

Location: We found this to have a very nice location, in the middle of Little India. Some great Indian places to eat in the area. Also, close to two different MRT stations, so no trouble getting around. 7 eleven located just outside. Close to several shopping malls, as well as markets. McDonalds nearby if you are crawing fastfood.

Rooms: Our room was in the new building and we found this to be very quiet and peaceful. We hardly heard anything from the dorm located one floor beneath us. A strong smell of paint in the room, but we got used to it. Nice clean bed, aircon, DVD player etc. Felt very clean and comfortable.

Bathrooms: Two showers and two toilets to share. The toilets are VERY small, we are both skinny people, but we had trouble navigating in the bathroom. Showers were good and new tiles makes it look and feel clean. A bit crammed by the sinks, but no biggie. I never saw anyone cleaning the area, but it seems like it was cleaned often, because it was always spotless. Only thing we missed was a proper mirror, didn't have any in the rooms either.

Staff: Helpful!

Breakfast: They offer free breakfast: toast, jam, butter and hard boiled eggs. Basic, but totally fine when it is free.

They do have two buildings and most of the rooms/dorms are located in the older building, which also has the reception, breakfast and hang out area. Might want to request staying here if you want to be social, the building we stayed in was rather quiet. Free internet on the computers, but there was almost always someone on the computer.

Overall; very good experience with this place!

I stayed at the InnCrowd hostel in June and it was a great experience, a mix of ages from 18 to 35, clean welcoming and comfortable. Many solo travellers.
The only inconvenient that you can find is that there are unisex bathrooms, so except to see anyone from the opposite sex in the toilet while you shower, etc.
However even that creates a sense of community. As a solo traveller I met such a nice group of people that then I arranged to meet again later on my trip.
If you are travellng by yourself or only with one other friend I think it will be your best option!
basic breakfast included! I highly recommend it!

I really don't understand the reviews on this site, why are they so scathing? It's a hostel right, id doesn't claim to be anything more, but for a hostel it's damn good.

Loads of free computers and wifi with unlimited super-fast internet. More services than you can stick at, laundry, printing, tours, rent guide books, buy cheap guidebooks. cool chillout / common room with DVD player & massive plasma screen, sofas & bean bags.

rooms are decent sized, clean dorms with AC set to a sensible temp & only on at night - which is how it should be.

They're laid-back about when you pay for stuff. The staff are super super friendly and have an astonishing ability to remember everything about you.

the biggest negative for me:
with all the free internet & big TV, people don't talk to each other enough.

stayed here for 3 nights on a cheap and cheerful stopover on the way to Oz.

booked a private double room as not good with other people snoring and the room itself was basic but good. double bed with a single bunk above it. aircon was fabulous! huge TV and you can hire DVD's from reception. the double rooms are all in the 'other' building, just round the corner from the main.

bathrooms were not the 'country club' style suggested online. they're only in the main building. the showers were ok. but the toilets - both of them were difficult to manage. one of them you couldn't shut the door if your legs were not akin to those of an anorexic. the other you could get stuck in if someone left the other toilet door ajar. - this happened a few times and was quite amusing when you could hear peoples calls for help in the shower.

breakfast was basic but good. reception staff were helpful and nice. and they look after your bags for the day for a small fee.

i wouldn't stay there again. i didn't feel the 'other' building was all that secure and needs a good fix up.

but the one time we used the facilities in the main building - showers and bathroom area was fab.

If you're looking for a hostel with no frills, where u can crash after a long day of shopping, sight seeing and partying this would be the best choice. Rooms are dorm like, simple yet properly furnished with the essentials. Yes the toilets are small and cramped but it wasn't really a problem.

The people running this hostel were very friendly and helpful and was always around to provide assistance when needed.

One thing i really liked at the Inn Crowd was its common areas where one could just chill and watch a bit of TV or read. I met some nice people during my stay and would definitely be coming back.

Not really the best place to stay in Singapore. Not that is was terrible over there, but I'm sure there are better hostels in Singapore.

I didn't really like the neighbourhood of this hostel: little India, with some friendly people, but some are really pushy and hassle you to buy in their shops.

The hostel itself, you need an access code to get in, which is good, but you can't lock the doors of the dorms! They offer free lockers, but they are so tiny that you can hardly put anything in there.

They give you a sheet and a blanket, you have to make your own bed, which seemed a bit odd to me, I never have had to do that before (and I've stayed in more hostels). Also you have to take off your shoes, which seemed a bid ridiculous too, to me.

Also, they offer free internet- 30 mins per night stay, but there are only 4 computers available, and they are occupied all the time, so you have to go somewhere else anyway.

They also offer breakfast but you don't really have much choice.

On the positive side, it's a fairly clean hostel, and close to the mrt station. Staff was friendly.

Don't think I'd stay here again though.
