Ate here with the locals. Variety of choices Thai, noodles, Indian, satay -
you choose which vendor you are buying food from & go sit at a table & eat your meal. There is a drinks station in the middle or a girl comes round selling beer & fizzy drinks. Good atmosphere & good value. The chicken Thai green curry & rice was $5.50 SG hubby spent around $20SG on a variety of Indian dishes. There are lots of satay stalls in Bon Tat St which is pedestrianised at night & there’s a tea stall also we tried the finger milky tea which was lovely and only $1. Worth a trip if you want to sample the culture.

From my experience, the prices here are really quite inflated and most of the food isn't particularly outstanding (not bad, just average). However, it's of course cheaper as compared to most other food in Marina Bay (MBS food court is terrible). Nevertheless, the satay here is pretty delicious - stop for some if you're passing by late at night.

Always worth a visit when you stay in Singapore. Lao Pa Sat is an institution and it never disappoints. I had some indian cuisine and my girlfriend thai curry. Everything was good as always and cheap too.

While you are in Singapore on vacations, this place is very good to eat indian food, esp vegetarian foods.
Lots of vegetarian shops are present serving indian, Punjabi, south indian, north indian dishes.
Prices are reasonable and suits a budget traveler.

Most tourists visit Lau Pa Sat for the satay experience. Open area seating in the middle of the road during evening where traffic is closed for cars. Very crowded and smoky from the grilling of satay of course. Stall no. 7 & 8 is the most popular and you can order their set meal (combo of chicken, beef or mutton and prawn satays with ketupat rice, onion and cucumber condiments). More pricey than other places but you get the atmosphere. Taste wise, I would say average. The actual food court is rather big and has good variety of local, asian and western cuisine, which you may find in any food court over Singapore. The place is clean enough and plenty of seating under covered building with fans. I would rate most food I tried as average at best. If you do not have time to try out different local cuisine in Singapore, this is a good choice to sample most of it. Do visit at least once for the experience.
