The hotel looked newly renovated when I visited eight years ago, but it has aged noticeably since then. How old-fashioned is it? No wi fi in the hotel, but coin-op computers near the elevator. Still, the rooms are clean and functional. Those overlooking the pedestrian street out front cost more, while the cheaper rooms are at the back of the hotel. Some of the rooms back there are windowless and therefore a bit claustrophobic.
Breakfast in the vegetarian restaurant downstairs is included in the price -- a simple breakfast of toast and tea/cofee, or a basic Chinese buffet breakfast usually featuring noodles or fried rice, a vegetable, and steamed buns.
The reason to stay here, besides the reasonable (for Singapore) price, is the hotel’s great location. Nearby are a food court, busy temple, department stores, and Bugis shopping bazaar. Main bus routes are nearby, as is Bugis MRT station. For the energetic, destinations like the National Museum and Little India are within walking distance. The hotel staff are helpful in giving directions.
Book ahead; it's a popular place.

Room tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are less expensive.

I stayed here during the Grand Prix so was looking for somewhere to lay my head at a cheap price.

I wasn't expecting much but that was all I needed. The location was perfect to walk to most things or to get to the MRT station which means you options are endless (including getting to and from the airport cheaply in only around 30mins)

I was pleasantly surprised that the room was fairly big, had air con and a ceiling fan! Its a little dated and the beds were a little lumpy but for what I needed it was superb.

The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch but don't expect much - two slices of toast with some butter and jam, a glass of orange juice and a tea or coffee.

Overall, whilst it's a little dated it was perfect for a cheap stay in Singapore. The staff were all pleasant and friendly and I'd definitely stay again if I was in Singapore.

when you book and stay in this hotel you pay for it's great location. It's near from almost every tourist destination in the city. The hotel itself it's just Okay, quite spacious room with spacious bathroom. There are clean towel in the hotel provided. For tourist that will go to Sentosa Resort world you can walk to the Shuttle Bus drop off in the front of summer view hotel very near from this hotel.

I don't know if this qualifies as a hotel, it's more like a guesthouse/inn for us. Furniture and fixtures are all outdated. Bed is ok to sleep in. One thing we like it here though is it's clean and they bring fresh towels everyday. The breakfast is so-so. Get the continental breakfast over the buffet. We chose this hotel because of its location and we made the right decision. It was very easy to go from point A to point B from here. From the hotel you can walk to Orchard and Mustafa Centre. We did both. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and want accessible location this is a good place to be. For $100/night, I say this is alright.

Have stayed here 3 or 4 times over the years, stayed with the family in a triple room:

You pay up front so if you are staying more than one night, check out the room first to make sure you are happy with it, unlike myself..We didnt stay a second night..although we paid for it.

Room very hot, noisy through the wall air con.
Very limited facilities, i.e no small fridge..Pillows about 1 inch thick, nothing in bathroom etc..
Internet is via USB modem that you need to hire for $5 per hour, hmmmmm, no explanation from lady at check in desk that it needed to be returned at the end of the hour. It didnt actually work and I couldnt connect so I was quite pxxxxd off when we received a phone call at 1230 am when we were all asleep to ask for it back or we would be charged for the last 2 hours.. I explained to the guy at the desk that perhaps it could have waited until the morning.

We didnt eat breakfast that morning, even last time we stayed we ate out, breakfast is a fairly miserable affair, cheap tasteless unhealthy food. Eat out, plenty of alternatives for breakfast close by. Not a bad location, but in Singapore eveywhere is fairly central. No taxis to front door so if you have a lot of luggage you will have to lug it 50 meters or so to the taxi stand.

Basically an upmarket backpackers place that could do with some investment
Would never go back.
