“Large coastal park with mangrove swamp”

A fairly large coastal park situated in the North East of the Island overlooking Pulan Ubin Island. The park contains a mangrove swamp with raised walkway, and a children's play area which appeared to be being enlarged during the time of our visit. There are numerous washroom facilities with showers and drinking fountains, and a few eateries which only appeared to open in the evening. There are a number of cycle paths that criss cross the park, and bicycles can be hired in nearby Pasir Ris town park. Look out for the woman who sits each day on a bench overlooking the sea with her tame white parrot who loves to interact with passers by. To get to the park simply take the MRT to Pasir Ris and then follow the signs to the park which takes about 10 minutes.

A lovely park with spacious lawns as well as shady matured rain trees. Plenty on offer for the family too, such as the pony rides, mega kiddie playground, mangrove swamp, and next to it Downtown East leisure playground with the Wild Wild Wet water theme park.

The park is a little out of they way, however it is a destination park one can spend an entire day with the family there. The beach itself is nothing to write home about though.

You can read my blog posts about my recent visit to the park and the mangrove swamp:

As recomended from a friend, we went there with its shuttle bus via pasir ris mrt station. Have to wait 30 mins for the next shuttle. No signboard of where the shuttle point is. Got to ask the local people, otherwise ure gonna go round and round the mrt station. And the bus driver was rude.. (just give up you're not happy with your job man!)

At the park, well the locker assistance is not the best, gotta called them up a couple of times .

The rides... well i've seen better. I can't see the 'WoW'ness.. its small...

When were leaving the park, we decided to leave via shuttle bus. So we study the park map and follow the shuttlebus point sign . But it stop at nowhere. There're no bus or van. Waited for almost 30-40mins...

We have to go back not using the shuttle bus. We prefer taxi.

To the management please review your sign.

This is the last. Never again.

I have been frequenting this park for the past 17 years. Many shops have come and gone, but for the larger part there have not been many significant changes.

This is the second largest park in Singapore, andf in my opinion a nicer one. It is definitely less crowded and dirty than East Coast Park. However, it does get a little crowded on public holidays and weekends. The best time to visit is on weekday mornings, when the park is virtually empty, save for a few runners.

It is a nice place to kayak as well, with the Straits of Johor being relatively calm most of the time, and a specially cordoned area suitable for kayakers or swimmers. The park is clean in general and it is a pleasant place to be at in the morning or evening, except for the mosquitos and ants (which are also present everywhere else).

One of my fave park in Singapore, though it is smaller compare to East Coast Park but there are just as many things to do there. You can rent a bicycle to ride around, learn to ride a Horse during the weekend, stroll thru the community-effort Spices Gardens, or watch guys playing soccers.

It is also a fave haunt for Bird Watchers during the migratory seasons, or you can check out the Mangrove area with boardwalk.

Lastly, it is a lovely romantic place for sunset watching, or just stares as far as your eyes can see across the Johor Straits, Pulau Ubin is just across =)
