“The only suspension bridge in Singapore”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

This bridge was originally called the Edinburgh bridge and renamed later. The coat of arms of the Cavenagh family can be seen on both sides of the bridge. You can't miss it as it connects both sides of the river.

“Oldest Bridge in Singapore”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The bridge was built in the 1860s and is reputed to be the oldest bridge in Singapore. It is located by Boat Quay and the historic Fullerton hotel.
You need not go out of your way to see it as it forms part of the busy though fare between Marina Bay and Boat Quay and the chances are you will walk across it anyway. There are nice grassy verges close by to sit and relax.

“You'll see this bridge in your travels about”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

This bridge is one you'll almost certainly come across in your wandering about the downtown core area of Singapore. The bridge is, well, it isn't the Golden Gate or the Sydney Harbour Bridge or anything of that sort. In actuality it is an old bridge that has reverted to pedestrian use and as such it is highly useful to pop from one side of Singapore River to the other.

It is definitely worth a photo. And really you won't go out of your way to have a look given you'll probably cross it to get to the Merlion at Marina Bay, to the Asian Civilisations Museum or the Art House or one of the many places of interest in the vicinity.

“Oldest bridge in town”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Built in 1869 this is the oldest bridge in Singapore. Its a cable suspension bridge very similar to Albert Bridge in Battersea Park, London.
It is a perfect example of Victorian engineering and looks particularly good at night when lanterns at each end are lit. It links the Asian Civilisations museum to the Fullerton Hotel and is pedestrian only - but keep an eye out for the odd trishaw.

“A good place to have a stroll”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

We walked through this bridge at night. A safe place for a stroll even at night, well-lit. There are many joggers using this bridge and nearby areas. The Fullerton Hotel is just nearby.
