We have been fortunate to visit all restaurants and bars in the S.C.C. on our visits to Singapore. The building is an interesting part of the past history. The club whilst once dominated by WASPs now has a diverse membership, which makes it more vibrant and interesting. Sitting in the bar, with the excellent staff is reminiscent of a formal club, eating on the veranda looking out at the grounds and surrounding buildings is relaxing and casual. This visit we had our 8 month old Granddaughter with us and were restricted to eating areas, the staff were lovely with her and very helpful. The meals in the various restaurants has always been very good. Eating satay sticks on the balcony as the sun was setting was memorable.
We have visited as a couple and with adult children and now with the next generation and have always had a pleasant experience. Reciprocal entry from other nations clubs is available, check before you go.

Great little piece of history here in Singapore. The grounds are accessible from the road and is worth a quick ten minute whistle stop tour for some photos.

I came here as a guest during a work trip to Singapore. It has a lovely colonial style and ambience. I could imagine the place full of rubber plantation owners in the late 1800s, probably drinking gin and complaining about the heat. We were wearing jeans so we were denied entry to the upstairs dining room, fair enough, but we had a good meal downstairs. Downstairs was probably more befitting our casual mood.

Our hosts generously bought a bottle of second growth Bordeaux plus a very good Hermitage, which we drank upstairs in the open air, admiring the Singapore skyline. Sadly, it was back to my regular life as a working stiff the next day.

We were lucky enough to visit the SCC using reciprocal rights from the MCC. (This should be organised before you travel). We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the veranda bar and watched the city of Singapore light up. The meal was of a high standard, a reasonable price and the service was fantastic. We were able to look around and appreciate the diverse background of this very historic building.
