the location is convenient. The hotel is in near the financial district and the quays. Rooms are very confortable (especially beds) and elegant. Also the staff has been collaborative.
The hotel has a very interesting pool.

A centrally located hotel within walking distance of major attractions. The room was average size with limited clothes hanging space for two people. Room service was good, although on some occasions was not carried out until late in the day. No internet access (unless you are willing to pay) which these days should be standard. Breakfast buffet was adequate with the usual choices of food catering for western tastes. Meals at the formal restaurant on the top floor were good, and allowed some excellent views of the city.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are preferable as they are away from noisy airconditioning units

We stayed at the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel in Singapore for a few days to break the flight from Japan to Australia. We had a huge room with large bathroom - both very clean. The views were great also. The area is central and close to the MRT and bus stop, which was a real bonus. There are a lot of eateries in a food hall right next door, as well as a vegetarian restaurant so food was always handy with a supermarket close by as well. You may need to ask directions - the Chemist shop next door is ultra-friendly - as we wouldn't have been aware of these facilities without their help. There are two pool areas and the lobby and entrance areas are really nice. Staff were always helpful and the lift was efficient and quite large. The room also had a small fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on 11th floor - good views - no noise - very roomy.

Arrival - Me and my wife arrived into Singapore airport around 1.30pm local time. We decided to buy the 3 day tourist pass from the airport which covers the MTR, busses etc and cost $30 SGD. The transfer to the Excelsior was pretty easy by MTR. We took the East/West Line (Green) from Changi airport to City Hall. The hotel is about 3 minutes away.

Check in – On arrival we were checked in by a really nice lady called Amy. We booked a deluxe room and on arrival we were also given complimentary lounge access and our room was in the Peninsula tower. The hotel is split between two towers, Excelsior and Peninsula, these are joined by the Lobby which has the Gym and Swimming Pools located off it.

Room – The room was big enough for our stay and was in a modern design, we were located on the 18th floor and had great views of the Marina and the Sky Park. The bathroom was separated off the bedroom and it was spacious which included a bath and also a separate shower. There was also an LCD TV, safe, complimentary 2 x bottles of water and it had all the required necessities in both bathroom and bedroom. The room did have little storage, there was a cupboard which had the safe inside and space which is adequate for 1 person but not 2 people with suitcases. These stayed out and were placed on top of the inbuilt lounger on the window. Overall the room was very nice, quiet and very comfortable. It was just right for us as we only really slept there but if you like to spend a lot of time in your room then maybe this hotel isn’t for you.

Room Service – Room service was available whenever we needed it. We ordered room service on our first night as we wanted to recover from the flights. We ordered their fish and chips and Calamari. We were very pleased with the portion size and this was more than enough for the two of us. If we had ordered two mains we would have struggled, this meal cost $40 SGD. We were given complimentary water bottles each day and a daily local newspaper.

The Breakfast – We had the flexibility of this either at the Lounge bar on the 22nd floor (views of Marina & Sky park) or in the restaurant. We were given access to the lounge for breakfast and we tried it once – It is less busy but also less choice! The breakfast was a buffet and there was pretty much everything you would expect. They also had chefs there who would make you your omelette of choice, poached egg and fried eggs. Breakfast was from around 7am – 10.30am but we normally went around 9.30am.

The Location – The hotel is in a very convenient location and this is the main reason why we booked fit. It’s a 3 minute walk to the City Hall MTR and it is located beside the Funam IT Mall (IT and tech) it’s a great hub if you want to explore the city.

The Gym – The good sized gym is located on the lobby floor. The gym is pretty quiet at all times of the day. The gym provides complimentary towels and a water machine. I went to the gym at various points throughout our stay and it was always pretty quiet.

Pools – There are two pool areas, the lobby facing pool and a pool which is linked to the Excelsior tower, both are good sized pools but the lobby pool is much busier.

Overall – Great hotel if you’re going to Singapore for a few days to explore the city. Great service and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Try and get the Peninsula tower for a great view and ask for a higher level.

Stayed here for 2 nights, location is excellent. Close to City MRT and only 3 stops away to Orchard road shopping centre. Walking distance to China town. Many cheap convenient shops around here and cheap food court too. Highly recommended.

We stayed over on our way back from Europe. Our first room was vile, the bathroom had rust and smelled dirty. The lift could be heard rolling up and down. So the next day we upgraded, twice, the room was suite but still very dilapidated. It cost a lot of money, only benefit was the free breakfast in the exclusive restaurant. The room and bathroom still disappointing. The whole hotel dated. If we ever return to Singapore , we will not stay here again.
We were jet lagged and should have moved hotels.
