“Good value in great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

I stayed here for two nights while on holiday visiting friends. The location is superb, just a short walk from Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, and two different MRT stations. Compared with other alternatives in Singapore it offers great value and is a big step up on cleanliness and aesthetic appeal compared with the budget chains (e.g. Hotel 81).

The rooms are really small and a slightly odd design, but they've done well with the space available. The beds are comfortable and there's a small fridge with water and soft drinks included for free. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast isn't particularly inspiring, but it's decent enough.

Be aware that many of the rooms have no windows – I overlooked this detail when booking and ended up in one such room. While there's no street noise (or light!) in such rooms, the walls are thin and can be a bit noisy when people are talking in the hallway or using the lift. Take earplugs just in case.

Room Tip: Consider whether you want a window in your room – the entry level rooms don't have any. Ask if a...

The hotel's location is excellent. We were in Singapore for just 3 days and therefore could easily come back in the afternoon for a little rest and leave again for sightseeing completely refreshed. The MRT station Clarke Quay is a very short walk so getting anywhere is no problem at all. The rooms are bit small but hey we are in Singapore so can't complain at all. Rooms have very comfortable beds, very clean and aesthetically pleasing, amazing showers, a fridge, locker, kettle and free cold drinks. The breakfast every day was different and offered great choice and wholesome food. The staff is very responsive and know good English. All in all it was a very pleasant stay on our first visit to Singapore. Will definitely stay here on our subsequent visits.

This hotel is new. The staff are personable and friendly and the hotel is beautiful and artistic.
The location of the hotel is a mere five minutes from Clarke Quay Central and the stretch of Clarke Quay (restaurants and bars).

Everything is a thumbs up at this hotel, including the free breakfast for all guests. If I had to find a down side, it would be the size of the room, which is quite small, but honestly there is so much to do around Singapore that it would be a waste spending it in your room. Plus if you do need some space, the cozy lobby area isn't a bad place to read/relax too.

About 20 minutes from the airport by cab (at night or early morning). I travelled there during the night, and night fare after 12midnight is 50% extra. Cost from airport was Singapore Dollars 25. Expect to pay around 15 to 25 Singapore Dollars

Breakfast is buffet style - the selection isn't extensive but the food is tasty and certainly satisfying.
In all, a great place to stay for the location, cleanliness (this is super important to me!) and the staff. A big thumbs up!

I stayed in this hotel for business and its location and amenities is really value for money. You are walking distance from CBD and the Marina, lots of restaurants and bars to unwind to after a long day of meetings...The rooms are very unique (thus 'the Arts'). Brand new, very clean, and the staff is nice and helpful. I will stay with them again for sure!

Love the murals in the room, inspiring, & unique themes for each room. Very clever idea, especially for rooms without windows.
Felt cosy & pampered, especially the welcome drinks & luxurious amenities. I love that they use recycled paper packaging.
The staff were great. You could tell they liked and respected each other-the lady pushing the laundry trolley, the man sweeping the lobby, room service etc.
Anne at the frontdesk who checked me in was the perfect, welcoming, friendly face every morning went I go for breakfast.
And Sherrine, the Marketing Manager was a wonderful host.

Booked a studio queen through the hotel's website (led me to hotelsdirect). Wasn't sure of the size of the room at first as there were no indication but found to be quite small. (superior is 11-13sqm, studio is 12-13sqm, deluxe 15sqm-20, the rest is much bigger, taken from their brochure). Was allowed early check-in as the request was done and the room seems to be available.

Used card key access for the room and lift. Relatively easy to identify and use.

When checked in, found the place relatively pleasant (mural was MBS). Only short point was because the room was small, the working desk is also very small. Enough to put 1 file and wallet/phone and that's it. Powerpoints 2-3, enough for business travellers with ipod/ipad and laptops.

Bed was comfy though a bit on the high side (had to literally climb up to get on top of it).

Toilet was not excessive, bathing facilities was rain shower. If the towels are placed at their respective areas would be better (bath towel was at the toilet top instead).

Continental Breakfast the next day was quite good. Though I think you could put a sign to ask people to stop the toaster (got mine burnt, didn;t think it was not automatic).

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are windowless. You may want to check with the reception on which may have windows...
