Was looking for a place I could escape to for an afternoon of peace and quiet. The St Regis Singapore turned out to be the perfect place. Immediately after checking-in, I indulged in an in-room massage and a hot soak in a freestanding bathtub, the bathroom was bigger than my bedroom at home. Then there was a decision to make, do I read my book on the couch, daybed or bed? All of the St Regis rooms, I understand, are generous in size.

Service in the hotel was lovely. Staff were warm, polite and efficient.

Enjoyed shopping in the surrounding malls (a lot of fashion and children's stores nearby), followed by more soaks in the freestanding tub. I didn’t get a chance to read my paper by the pool. Or try the delicious-looking food in the pool cafe. Next time. The gym can be accessed 24/7. Though I didn’t take advantage of this, I appreciated the idea of it.

I thoroughly recommend it as a staycation or holiday destination for those looking to pamper themselves a bit and do a bit shopping over a couple of days.

I recently completed a one week stay at the St Regis Singapore. Everything was pretty amazing: from the butler service, the hotel pool, to the stately, classy rooms. Excellent location too (near Orchard road). Only thing to be aware of: air conditioning in the lobby/breakfast area was WAY too strong (bring a sweater). I would also suggest it is primarily geared towards business travelers, so casual travelers may have a slightly better experience at somewhere like the Ritz Carlton. Still, it was awesome overall.

There are a lot of high end, luxury hotels in Singapore. The St. Regis is not embarrassed in their company. It is first and foremost a business hotel. This reviewer, at least would not be so excited to stay here on a vacation:a bit too big, somewhat too soulless, and just too corporate, But for business, it works well. Well appointed, but slightly sterile rooms; comfortable bed; very effective air-conditionning (set to very cold); a butler service on call (something I cannot quite see the purpose of); a bathroom with a separate shower room and separate toilet. The room light system is complicated - and mine had a mind of its own, so much so that 15 minutes after I turned the lights off they turned themselves on and woke me up. Breakfast is terrific, although the coffee service is slow. Check in and check out is friendly, efficient and - at peak times - still very quick. A safe and reliable option.

We normally stay in a serviced apartment when we visit Singapore because it's much easier with twin toddlers. Since we were only visiting for a few days this time, we decided to stay in the St. Regis. There aren't many reviews about the hotel for kids when I searched the internet, but we were surprised at how well they accommodate children when we got there. One of the twins spent our check-in time chatting with one of the staff about the chandelier in the entrance. When we got to our room, the butler immediately offered bed guards to keep the kids from falling off the bed and when we agreed had them installed right away. They saw that the kids were bathing in the marble bath area and brought skid proof mats right away. Then Kris from the front desk dropped by to bring the kids St. Regis bags with a teddy bear and colouring materials. Their Bento boxes for kids in the room service menu are great too! They come with toys that the kids love and they even have Yakult on the menu. The kids' robes and slippers are absolutely adorable and the hotel pool is perfect for children. There's an entire area with just 5 inches of water and rows of fountains. Tanglin Mall is just around the corner and there are so many kids stores in that mall. Thank you to Kris from the front desk for taking such excellent care of our entire group during our stay and also to Chris at the entrance who spent the entire check-in time talking to one of the twins.

Pros:
Very good location, in the heart of Singapore

Some interesting food choices, good live bands

Interesting unique concept with the butler per floor - ensures good attention to detail and personal preference. Very impressive

Cons:
Staff at front door can be a bit 'snobbish' at times, but the good service inside more than makes up for it.

Would recommend it !
