After 2 disastrous stays ,1st stay in a Deluxe Grande and 2nd in Metropolitan Ste (aka Murphy's Law Lab), the recent third stay in their lowest category room surprisingly turned out good.

The check-in and check-out were smooth, unlike my first 2 stays.

Butlers were proper and kind, unlike the Met Suite butler previously.

The room was clean and well maintain, big contrast from the Met Suite i've gotten previously.

Staff are nicer now, as they no longer complains about some other guest among themselves when i share the lift with them.

Didn't try the restaurants, didn't get good experience previously, so wouldn't take the risk and ruined the stay. When to 2 nearby restaurants, California Pizza (nice) and Tony Romas (very nice), for dinner at a reasonable price of about $200 for two pax.

At Decanter, its a different sommelier from my previous two stays, but they all had the same standard of eye-ball you and ignore you. Nothing new, didn't hurt my stay.

Enjoy the wet spa sooo much that i used twice.

Lastly the filipino tech guy who came to my room and strangely told me that none of the extended video input ports were meant to be connected and display video on TV. He said i can only pipe in music and not video. If so, strangely why are there various type of video input socket on the panel? Please train the tech guy.

Overall enjoyed my stay.

Dear Tickerup,

It is very heartening to hear that you have not only returned to The St. Regis Singapore despite two previous stays that were less than satisfactory, and furthermore, have seen a marked improvement in our service standards.

I thank you sincerely for taking the time to acknowledge us in a public forum like this, and I am grateful for the recognition to our undertaking of the continual refinement of all our service processes so that we can truly exhibit the St. Regis core values of providing experiences that exist beyond expectation.

Additionally, we appreciate the feedback regarding the video input ports. We will certainly look into this to ensure our staff has the technical know-how to assist in future.

Once more, a sincere thank you for returning and making The St. Regis Singapore your choice of address. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Warm personal regards,

Amadeo Zarzosa

Pros: awesome shower cabinet (water jets aimed at all manner of places!), great technology (bedside curtain controls, monster cables for ipods, surround sound rooms as standard, heated bath mirrors, stand alone bath with separate TV), large very well appointed rooms with seating area, decent work desk, great public areas, free wine tasting in the evenings, seats in the large lifts are a great touch for the elderly / infirm, complimentary pressing of shirts on check in. Round the corner from Orchard Road (about 15 mins walk to the nearest tube station).

Cons: slightly mixed service, (they have floor butlers but these are NOT as personalised and as personable as the butlers at The Oriental in Bangkok - they cover several floors and are frequently seen running and panting, the poor things) (friendly but a bit switched-off service at reception) (mixed service by pool area - sometimes they offered you sprays, water and fruit, other times you don't even get a second look or a towel), had to ask for in-room tea/coffee making facilities.

Overall a good solid modern 5*, I would def stay here again, especially if the corporate rate of SGD350/night was available. Patchy service lets it down a little.

I just spent 4 nights at the St. Regis and while the hotel & it's facilities are 5 star the staff is not quite up to 5 star caliber. What is truly lacking by the staff is an attention to detail that you would find at, for example, a Taj Palace property. (e.g. the proper glasses not being in the minibar, 3 conditioners 2 shampoos & 1 body wash...I can only condition my hair some many times.....not replacing bath robes, etc.)

While the staff are making an effort, and I'm sure management will have them up to speed soon, my stay was not a true 5 star experience.

I’d like to thank you very much for your valuable feedback and for choosing The St. Regis Singapore during your stay here in our garden city.

It is always valuable to us to hear from our well-travelled guests on how we can improve, and hone in on the fine details that is a mark of distinction and that will set us apart.

It is vital that we pick up on these finer touches and refine them so that we can achieve and provide our guests with true expressions of luxury, and your review had identified areas in which we can do better.

The St. Regis Singapore was impressive from the beginning. The lobby features original works of art by renowned artists serve to raise your expectations of the rooms.

Thankfully the rooms are spacious and they've reached a good balance of luxury and modern design elements. The butler met us as we were shown up to our room and gave us a quick tour of the room automation features and offered some welcome tea.

The service level was outstanding and discrete throughout our three day stay.

Just spent 2 nights for the first time at this hotel and after having stayed at the top hotels throughout Asia many times (Peninsulas, Mandarins, Ritz Carltons), the St. Regis rivals the best of them with the ultimate in class luxury and comfort. The staff from check in to check out went out of their way to please, yet they were not at all intrusive. The room was very large, very clean, and had just the right comforts from the bed to the well laid out desk area - loved the soaking tub - TV and Bose audio system were a very nice touch. Breakfast in the lobby was excellent and afternoon choices were great as well. Inviting pool and spa were very relaxing. The hotel was very busy but it never felt crowded at at all. Housekeeping was invisible and top notch. Butler service a great benefit. The location couldn't be better with Orchard Road around the corner having every shop or restaurant you could need. Wish my stay was longer and for sure intend to return. Well done St. Regis
