On a weekend lunch, there is a long Q of KEEN Japanese customers waiting for a place, so one assumes this place must be great. Or do they feel homesick and want memories of Hokkaido - with a quaint décor (lots of seats at not one but two counters, Japanese-style tables with hole in the middle), Sapporo beer on tap, 'Skal Refresh Drink' (milk with soda!!) Or is it simply for the ramen? The noodles (especially the 'special' ones) are chewy and excellent. They offer different types of broth rarely seen in other ramen places in Singapore, like seafood-based soy broth, a chili broth with butter (for dipping dry noodles in). It's not the best ramen you can have, but it's different, it's new (bahru), so why not?
