We used the SMRT with our two day passes. Very good value for money and easy to use: subway, busses etc. A good alternative for taxis!
The entry and access to the (underground)was clean,rubbish free and well lit,the ticket machines were easy to use ,in many languages,also very cheap fares,the platform was behind barriers when the train came in,doors opened ,at no time was there access to the rails,information was given before every stop,if you were there for a long period,there were special priced tickets,with a refund for the ticket itself when used up.

Don't be shy, get down into the Metro system and check it out.
It is very very safe and is immaculately clean - no graffiti or litter anywhere.
Lots of staff to ask help of, though signage good and plentiful.
Very ordered boarding and disembarkation. Good signs showing the next station and which side the doors will open.
Driverless trains, taking you to any part of the city, quickly and easily.
Very cheap.
Whilst walking is easy in Singapore, sometimes you need the aircon Metro to cool off a little.
Highly recommended for all.
