I had no idea what to espect when I got there but it turned out I had i wonderful time. People are coming from everywhere; the service is awesome; all the activities can be reserved at the hostel's desk; it's close to everything and it really feels safe. It might be hard to find at first because of the trees next to the fence, but it's the only "bad" thing I could say about it.

Let me start by saying that my girlfriend and I don't mind staying in a simple place if the price is right. However, this place isn't just simple, it's a dump, and the price is definitely not right. Let's start with the fact that the place looks like it was built in '72 and never updated. Not even the sheets and towels, which are now barely more than threads. We stayed here for two nights and never saw the staff do anything in terms of upkeep. NOTHING. No breakfast. No laundry. No hangers in the closet. No toilet paper in the bathroom. Missing light bulbs. Broken appliances that look like they've been broken for 40 years and never dealt with. We wouldn't have minded paying 30 US a night for this, but we paid 70. Definitely not worth it. Basically, you get a roof over your head, and are expected to do the rest for yourself. There was milk in the fridge dated from 2010. As I'm writing this, it's Dec '11. Now, I don't expect the staff to act like it's the Taj Mahal, but you'd think they'd at least put TP in the bathrooms, or replace light bulbs, or clean a bit, or fix/replace broken stuff, or clean out the fridge once a month let alone once a year. By the way, as I write this my girlfriend is going to the can with a headlamp due to the lights not being functional in the bathroom. Long story short, this place has been seriously neglected. It feels like you're staying in an abandoned hotel. Also, bring cash, because although they'll take your credit card when you reserve the place, they won't take your credit card when you try to pay. But do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

We stayed 2 nights and we liked it. Good stuff. Huge backyard with outdoor pool. Nice BBQ area. A separate room for pool and other social games. Nice spacious kitchen to use. The rooms were clean and pretty big, enough space in a double room for sure (dont know the shared rooms). Unfortunately there are only 2 baths for the whole house (1 downstairs, 1 upstairs), entonces if you have to go to toilet urgent you might consider going outside.....

We stayed here for 5 nights, 3 of which in between we decided last minute to go and spend in a refuge in the national park... they had no problems with us breaking up our booking and storing bags... which were locked away securely...

The people we met here probably helped alot but we ended up having the best time here really making it our home (it is a big house) and cooking drinking and chilling out there....

The staff were chilled helpful and friendly... the location is a fair walk in the rain but very quiet and still conventient... the have their own bikes which we enjoyed riding around on for a day and hired cheaply from them....

It was old and run down... the carpet and walls for example are marked and scuffed but if you can overlook a bit of wear and tear it is uber cozy and fun.

Highly recommend it... but if you want modern convenience and shiny new rooms don't stay here... the kitchen was also really good.

Room Tip: run down in a nice cozy way... very good stay

We stayed here for three nights just when it got cold in Chile, and this place is freezing. But the American girl working here is so great she warmed up the place:) (the other woman here, not so much...)
Nice, spacious rooms for three people, good kitchen with bbq outside and nice area to chill, read and watch tv. Nice place to meet people, but can be a bit noisy. A good, cheap place to stay in Pućon.
