We stayed here for 1 night and 2 nights at Mirador Los Volcanes so I can offer opinions about both. Overall they are both great choices it just depends on your personality, I think I preferred this one slightly for its internet connection and proximity to Pucon despite the reduced privacy of sleeping all in 1 room. This is a nice family run hotel overlooking Lago Villarica. The rooms generally all face the lake so you cant go wrong. They also have a restaurant (but you have to tell the chef you want to eat there in advance) and free breakfast buffet. The rooms are super modern and clean and they added 2 fold out beds for our 2 kids. There is also free wifi and heat which I liked after 2 days off the grid at the mirador building wood fires. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs so you can go read or relax after your kids go to bed. They also have a very cold unheated swimming pool and you can pay for a wood fired hottub if you ask well in advance. The place is on the main highway about 5km towards villarica from pucon so convenient to downtown but much quieter. The downside were the insanely steep driveway up to the hotel which is a workout if your rental car is a stickshift, its farther to go to Caburgua and Huequehue park and also there were several families with small kids like us so maybe this isn't the place for honeymooners or grumpy geriatric travelers. Overall great, if they heated their pool it would be near perfect.

Room Tip: All rooms have a nice view of the lake.

We booked this hotel through Imagine Latin America, and we're so glad we did!

This hotel is just gorgoues. Built only a few years ago the owners have achieved the perfect mix of style and relaxation. All rooms face towards the front of the hotel out over the lake, a fantastic view. All the staff are very friendly - we spoke with the chef on numerous occassions who would ask us what we'd want for dinner, instead of providing a menu. Certainly a new experience for me when visiting a restaurant. The food was delicious and I would recommend a meal there even if you don't stay as a guest.

The hotel is a little out of Pucon, you definitly need a car to stay there but for us that was part of the attraction. It's only a 5 minute drive into Pucon but once you've had your activity packed day you can return to the peace of Casa Establo!

We stayed a week at the Boutique Hotel Casa Establo in early February of 2014. It is a great place run by the family and a small staff. We are a family of four (two girls ages 4 and 6) and they did a great job of accommodating us comfortably in a room on the second floor with some spare beds for the girls. It was a very comfortable stay. The views from hotel over the lake from the dining room and rooms are fabulous and it made for a very relaxing stay. It is up on the hill overlooking the like (not right on the water) so it is quiet and away from the sometimes loud crowded atmosphere of Pucon. The chef on the premises, Javier, also cooked a number of excellent meals. Alejandra, usually at the front desk, also was always full of great suggestions for local activities (hikes, waterfall, horse rides, etc.). We would definitely stay here again.

Spacious room with a great view although it was raining when we stayed for two nights so we could not enjoy it. For the same reason we did not stay in the pool. Very good bed and shower and the breakfast is OK. It is not in the town of Pucon so a car or taxi is needed. Very pleasant personal and helpful! If you like dogs (there were 2..) this is the place to stay in Pucon.

Room Tip: No escalator so take a room on first or second floor.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights prior to our big triathlon race in Pucon. We loved the room with a view, the hospitality of the family and the breakfast.

We had a room (Rico Raco) on the 3rd floor (no elevator) as we didn't want the noise of anyone overhead. The floors are not carpeted, but there are rugs so we wanted to ensure we wouldn't hear anyone and we didn't. Our view of the lake was brilliant, the room was spacious and the bathroom was impressive. The shower was pretty awesome - you could select 3 different ways to shower if you wanted to. No tub. There is shampoo, conditioner and bar soap. I didn't try these as I'd brought my own. Bring your own lotion & body wash.

The breakfast is really delicious - they set out yogurt, breads, a sweet of some variety, and juices. They'll do eggs to order, you need to ask; and coffee/hot water are available. The 2nd morning, we had gone into town early to get a swim in and made it back about 10 minutes prior to the 10 AM breakfast cut off. They had already cleaned up breakfast, but they went above and beyond for us and served us out on the deck. Lesson there is let them know you plan to be back in time for the breakfast cut off. They had assumed we wouldn't and we didn't let them know. So it was awesome they accommodated us.

The wifi was reliable, albeit spotty from the 3rd floor compared to the other places we stayed in (3 in all for Pucon). Dinner was very tasty and the service was wonderful. No menu items to choose from, rather one selection of meal was provided to us. It was also reasonably priced and included our wine.

There are 2 large dogs on the property who are welcome additions if you love dogs. They're not aggressive that we saw and love to hang out with you if you let them. They will also shoo them away if you find them bothersome. The property itself is about a 10 minute drive into Pucon (it's off the road between Pucon & Villarrica) and it's up a ridiculously steep drive that is not fully paved. It's fine if you have a rental car with 4x4 but as an American it's a shock at first. My husband loved driving up/down it.

As for is this a place to assemble your tri bike? It will work, however, we ended up assembling it at another hotel so can't comment on that. There are areas where assembly could work - their patio overlooking the lake, your room (all indoors) or there's a back area where the pool is.

I would definitely stay here again. It's not cheap, but many locations in Pucon aren't cheap. They provided us with many recommendations and their English is wonderful, unlike many other parts of Pucon.

Spent 5 nights at casa establo and loved this hotel. The view from the room over the lake is fantastic and sitting at the outside tables overlooking the lake was great. The rooms are spacious and the walk in shower was one of the best we experinced in Chile. The owners were really friendly and the staff were very helpful Plus great personal attention from the chef. We really felt welcome and were sad to leave.
Even the two dogs were great hosts and were friendly to all guests.

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor for the best views of the lake

Having read the reviews on this hotel, we were disappointed when we arrived. None of the reviews emphasised the distance from the hotel to Pucon. It is a USD 12 taxi ride each way (although their taxi driver is very reliable). None of the reviews mentioned that two large dogs live in the hotel. Do not stay there unless you are a dog lover. We asked them to keep the dogs on a lead, but on a couple of occasions when we returned to the hotel the dogs were running around the property. We loved the photos of the hot tub online, so were disappointed to discover that it costs USD 60 to use! We also thought breakfast was stingy (compared to other hotels we´d stayed in in Chile), especially given the price of the room. On a positive note, the rooms were clean, the view over the lake was impressive and the staff were friendly.
