This is a great travelers hosteria a block out of the busy area of shops and eateries, so you are close for walking, but still quiet. The cool traveler ambiance, friendly staff, and comfortable common area and restaurant make this a great lodging choice to meet lots of other travelers. Very economical for Pucon. The restaurant serves vegetarian dishes that are tasty and satisfying along with beers and wine. Accepts credit cards.

You don't feel very welcome when you arrive at the hosteria Ecole! Some people who work there at the desk can be very unfriendly.
If you don't speak or understand well "Chilean" spanish, good luck! I still don't understand why their website is available also in French and English as nobody at the desk really speaks those languages except the only friendly one.
The room, a twin one with private bathroom, was small and there were nothing to put your stuffs in, no closet, nothing.
When we entered there was a smell of something that looks like a wet dog, and the bathroom, especially the shower, hasn't visibly been cleaned before our arrival.
We followed the advises of a french guide when we decided to book there and definitely, you'd better find yourself your accommodation.
Fortunately the place is quiet, but far away from the very centre of Pucon

It's cozy, especially the common area. It has OK location. Stuff is OK.

We are all warned by Lonely Planet that it's not really friendly to the self-catering, but still, it is a hostel where people doing excursions stay and make their sandwiches. One common fridge and microwave would not influence my decision to eat or not to eat at that place.

And about curfew, actually I believe midnight is too late for a place that practically does not have walls. I was waking up before 6 and needed much more sleep than from midnight (bring ear plugs!!!).

One more bad thing,I have realized that people in Chile have the issues with cleaning the doors. Bathroom doors were horribly dirty.

I read some of the reviews and it makes me think people forgot they were checking into a hostel. With that said, you can't beat what this place offers. Great location, good food, lively crowd and it was affordable. I felt like I was at a funky restaurant/home in Venice, CA. I thought it was great!

Read all the other reviews. Take the worse of each. You can not even read in bed at night the lighting is so bad. Shower head was broken. Leaks everywhere. You can not unpack - anything. SInce we recommended to our friends - I was so glad that they had a sense of humor!

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel.
