Wonderful B&B - the most restful night we had on the road during a 6 week trip. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed a sociable breakfast with the other travelers (one of whom was in her 80s, and had stayed at the house some forty years ago!)

The owner was kind and friendly - can only think of praise for this place. So much so, that I'm reviewing it several months late because I realised that I forgot to do it at the time. Better late than never for such a lovely spot.

How do I start? The location is very good, it has an amazing view to the Calbuco volcano if you're on the matrimonial room (the communal room on the second flor has the same view). The breakfast is top notch, with a lot of homemade stuff (don't forget to try the Manyar!) and fresh fruits, plenty of bread and yogurt. The heaters were working perfectly fine, and it is very cozy there in the winter, mainly because the house has a powerful woodstove. The wi-fi was very good and the signal was great as well. But the greatest asset is Dona Eliana, the owner, who made us feel like we were at home. She is incredibly nice, knows a lot about the southernmost part of Chile and is genuinely caring about her guests. We had a great time chating with her. One day the shower was a bit cold and she offered us another bathroom that was working perfectly fine.

Room Tip: Choose the matrimonial suite if you want an incredible view (if its not too clouded)

I really wish I could recommend this place with five stars because there is so much right: great location on top of a hill with amazing views of town and the mountains beyond, nice breakfast, a spacious room and generally exceptional guest facilities. But as we arrived in July, during a reasonably cold spell in Puerto Montt, the room was completely freezing. The electric heater inside was almost useless, providing minimal heat. When we asked for assistance, we were told to keep the door open or to use more blankets - despite there being a few gas heaters scattered around the 1st floor. The next morning when I woke up and needed to make a call, it was freezing in the common areas as well. I would surely stay here again, but recommend skipping this place when it's cold, as they are clearly not prepared.

Incredible place to stay. After checking-in, a towel and hairdryer was thoughtfully provided without having to ask. The bathroom had soap, shampoo and conditioner which was very convenient. There is heating throughout the home and the wifi signal is strong in the rooms. The very kind and friendly host, Eli, serves a fantastic breakfast of bread, fresh fruit and homemade jam, the quality of which one would expect in a high-caliber hotel. She also helped me make arrangements for my next destination. Excellent value for the price and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The single room is small, but has a tv

This hostel is located about 10 minutes walk from the bus station, and you have the downtown area in one direction, and the Angelmo fish markets and handicraft markets in the other direction, both about 15-20 mins walk away. So the location is good, and in a quiet residential street. Eliana is a kind, motherly sort of lady, who does a great breakfast (including fresh fruit salad!) The hostel has only a few rooms, comfortable beds, clean shared bathrooms, and the house is heated with wood-fired stoves.

I loved this place! The owner is delightful, welcoming and helpful. The best breakfast since being in South America with fresh fruit, nice toast and home baked pie!
It is super clean and everything works! Heating is good and beds are comfy. Would recommend it highly.

Puerto Montt is more of a transit town, but if you have to visit you won't make a mistake if you stay in Vista Al Mar.

What stands out for me is that the place has heating. You have a fireplace next to a kitchen and if you are really cold the staff can bring one of the gas heaters straight to your room to warm it up before the night.

The lady running the place is very friendly and helpful with your cooking.

The WiFi has a good signal and there is a communal computer on the second floor (fab views) that has a printer.

There are 3 spaces for a car behind a locked gate.

Room Tip: Tell the staff if you want a double bed (marital) or two singles. The first floor is closer to the h...
