“Southern chill Ice Fields”
Review of Sailing Patagonia

Sailing Patagonia
Reviewed 23 February 2014

We went on the Skorpios 111 trip from Puerto Natales to the Southern Chilean Ice Fields and had a great time.
We left Puerto Natales on a Friday night and we were allowed to go on the bridge of the ship and watch it head off as the owners of the ship was the Captain.
The food and drinks were all included and the Captains mother ran the food area, which resulted In excelant food and service
The ship might not have what a cruise ship has,but that's what I liked there were only 34 on the boat when we travelled and this was really nice,a lot of people from Santiago and we were able to go ashore at every glacier which was really good.
At one point we boarded an ice breaking boat to get close to a Glacier and near the floating icebergs, drinking whiskey with 100 year old ice.
We really enjoyed the trip and would really recommend going on this cruise if you like small parties and not large cruise boats.
The only thing is don't have a cabin in the lowest deck as it is very noisy and has no windows so it is worth paying the extra for the on the top decks.

We have just returned from a 3 week trip to Chile. Definitely, the highlight was the 6 day/5 nite cruise with Skorpios to the San Rafael Glacier. The scenery was spectacular and the comforts of home provided by the crew on the ship was fabulous. Other than a few couples originally from Chile, now living in Australia, my husband and I (from Canada) were the only ones that spoke English. The other travellers were mostly from Latin and South America which made casual conversation interesting. We did, however, have our own personal translator when details of the next day's adventures were being relayed in Spanish, which was great. The trip price includes everything - food (4 meals a day along with snacks in between) and drinks. Well worth the price and a great way to see the beauty of Chile's lake region!
