“great sight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2014

This place has it all great scenic drive, two cable cars and final hiking trail to the summit. Just finishing building a series of zip lines. the views from the top are amazing as the area in front of it is flat and the volcano soar above 2500 meters. when you look to the south you can admire beautiful mountain ranges.

“Worth the drive from Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

Very beautiful views from the top of the volcano. It is well worth the hike. There is an option to take a ski lift to the top, but I would recommend hiking up. There is a restaurant/ski resort on one side of the mountain. Nice place to grab a drink or some food.

“Beautiful”

This was definitely worth the drive. Views were spectacular. We rode the chairlift to the top and was worth every penny.

“GV Tour to View Volcano”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

GV Tour, 17 Feb, Not a good tour. Disappointing. GV can’t do anything about time lost to road construction (had to skip village of Fruitllar), but GV could provide a knowledgeable guide. Lorena was personable, with good English, but certainly not a guide who provided lots of history, and local info, etc, along the way, which we expected. GV Itinerary information online was about all we got on the entire tour, unless we asked a specific question. Lunch was very good, but go for the salmon, not the beef. Hire a trained guide, GV. You can do better.

“The Lake District from LLao Llao to Puerto Varas is a must if the weather is good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014

I have done the crossing of the Andes between Chile and Argentina twice. The first time was 20 years ago when the gloom prevented me from really experiencing the the beauty of this crossing. This week the weather was perfect and the thrill of the lakes and peaks was terrific. You can go either direction but the most recent was east to west from the exquisitely sited Llao Llao Resort. You go by boats and buses and it is one cool adventure, the substance of which hasn't changed in all of these years. In fact, we were told that the same family has been running these crossings for 100 years! The signs and buildings at the border are unchanged. This is a wonderful excursion for all ages.
