Room: dark and it was not that clean. Shower was ok. Breakfast was quite simple. Staff was ok,nothing special to add. The place itself could be better, but it looks a bit left behind. The location if you are by car it is good, otherwise you have to walk to the city which doesnt look safe, but I can not say as we had our car.

We spent 4 nights at this hostal in Feb. 2012. The general look and mood is great... nice selection of old objects and furniture and a very pleasant ad helpful staff.
My major regrets are about the bed (quite old and very uncomfortable), the room/bathroom (very small and extremely simple... bathroom barely ok). At night, every single noise from the corridor sounded loud on my bedroom... not the bed, after a day full of activities!
The breakfast is ok, simple but in a pleasing way!

We only stayed the one night but the staff were very welcoming and incredibly helpful. Thank you Ivan and Miguel. They organised an airport transfer and car hire to Argentina for us and also managed to get our lost luggage returned. The hotel is very quirky With lots of interesting railway memorabilia, etc, our children were enchanted! The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable with good linen and towels. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious, try the oil fish and the salmon. We would definitely recommend this place.

I would have loved to stay here for more than just one night! The hostel although located on a steep hill is fairly close to the center (10 to 15mn walk max). The place has so much character, the decoration is very original, very wooden which is typical for this region and it all comes together perfectly. The old objects which are part of the decoration makes this place interesting and a bit like a free museum!!! The bedroom was spotless and cosy, with central heating, huge private bathroom, tv and phone to call for reception. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was decent too and is in restaurant located upstairs. The restaurant is a bonus ! I would recommend this hostel (which is actually really a hotel) for business trips, couples, but a bit expensive for backpackers...

The outlook of this "boutique" hotel is so eye-catching but not insitde the rooms. The room facilities are very basic. We stayed in a tripled room with three beds. It is quite small and does not have much space for us to put luggage. The tours listed in the reception are much expensive than booking with the agents direct in the bus terminal. Moreover, it takes about 15-20 min walk to the town centre.

But the breakfast is the best during our trip.

I was on my way home after a long trip. I just wanted a place to relax and clean up.. My first choice was booked, I was cranky and schlepping way too much gear. I walked in and was fascinated by the decor, attention to detail and the staff was helpful....spoke English when I needed too and but otherwise let me blather on in Spanish. Someone at the helm has a big design aesthetic or simply fascinated by things like antique sewing machines. The bath was clean, roomy. The water was not scorchingly hot, but it was mid-day. I cannot say how quiet it was for sleeping, but I imagine it was fine. The internet worked flawlessly. I would LOVE to try their slow food restaurant. Puerto montt did not exactly catch my fancy, but I think these guys might show you another side of this town.
