Casa Molino is north of downtown Puerto Varas, so it is necessary to drive about 10 minutes to get there. A rental car is recommended (Tierra Outdoors provided a durable Chevy at a good price). The route to get to Casa Molino is somewhat roundabout, but with a map, it is not hard to find. Don't let the gravel roads discourage you--the hotel is worth the bumps and dust. Breakfasts were wonderful, with eggs and plenty of fruit and pastries. We ate in Puerto Varas each evening, so we cannot vouch for the dinners. Our room upstairs had a beautiful view of the lake and Orsono Volcano in the distance, and it was very quiet. The bathroom was clean and modern. Each room has a different size and character, and there are plenty of quiet places to read and relax. The wireless internet service was reliable and reasonably fast. Take time to walk the grounds around the hotel, too. The staff was very knowledgeable and recommended some excellent hikes in the National Parks and National Forests to the south and east of Puerto Montt. Compared with other lodgings in which we stayed around the area, Casa Molino feels more like a chateau than a hotel.
