We stayed one night here and really enjoyed it the Hotel has a nice charm and the staff are helpful. It is a good location and you can walk to town.
The breakfast was good and the room was nice and it is good value and clean.
The Wi Fi did not work in the room but I found this a lot in a Chile.

Plenty of parking here at Casa Kalfu and it was easy to find. It’s sort of on the edge of town, but only a 10-15 walk down to the centre.

We were allowed into our room a little early and we were on the top floor. The room had a balcony facing the lake and we had a super view of Volcan Osorno – a stunning sight. The room was compact and the décor was quite spartan, but all spotlessly clean and of course, that fantastic view.

The reception, breakfast room and ‘sitting area’ are all pleasantly decorated and the sitting room is the best and only place where there is a strong Wi-Fi signal.

Breakfast – offered eggs cooked to order (great – no undercooked scrambled eggs!), super fruit selection, salads, cheeses, cakes and good yogurt. A good choice of breads and excellent coffee. Plenty to keep you going with very pleasant service.

We must also give full marks to Francisco, who was very kind and did his best to help us with our on-line check-in – even phoning SKY Airline to find out why we couldn’t do it.

This is a very pleasant hotel and we would happily return to it.

Casa Kalfu is the place to stay for anyone in transit to or from a trek or kayak trip or other adventure—or if you’re attracted to that sort of thing and are just passing through. It’s a good B&B, with nice rooms, good beds (very important!), nice clean uncrowded bathrooms, free wifi in the common area and sometimes in the rooms, and great breakfasts. But what gives it added value is the owner and staff who helped us in all sorts of ways, from hanging up wet gear to dry and arranging taxi pick-ups to more mundane things like suggesting affordable places to eat within walking distance and helping us with phone calls. We stayed here before and after a 6-day kayak camping trip with YAK Expediciones, which recommended Casa Kalfu to us—a great suggestion. I have to say we were not enamored of the town of Puerto Varas, which feels way to glitzy touristy after the serene beauty of Hornopiren and Pumalin Parks, but if you have a reason to be there, this is a good option. It fills up, though, so book ahead if you can.

The Casa Kalfu is THE place to stay for awhile in Puerto Varas. Simply gorgeous. Quiet Location, within a quarter of an hour Walking distance to the town center. The entire house and all the rooms are awesomely decorated, you feel like in another world. The welcome is impeccable and very warm and friendly. The Lounge is a perfect place to relax from sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was the finest we experienced all over Patagonia. Casa Kalfu is a really charming place.

So we were driving around Puerto Varas looking for somewhere and saw this beautiful little hotel quite by accident. Great value at $105 for a really nice sized room, the staff could not have been more accommodating, it's a 15 minute walk to town with a sensational restaurant right on the corner. Bliss.

We spent two nights here.
Location is excellent. Its an easy 10 minute walk to downtown Purto Varas or if you go the other way, there are numerous restuarants along the lakeshore. They have on site parking which is a bonus considering how hard it is to find spots in town.
We were in room 4 which is a slightly more expensive view room...and yes there was a view of Orsono. Room was a decent size and bed was comfortable. Lots of storage and shelf space. Bathroom was decent size, just a bit on the narrow side. Lots of hot water and both bathroom and bedroom were clean and well maintained. No wifi in room but was available from lobby.
Breakfast was included and was standard continental...lots of fresh fruit and eggs were available on request. Lots of smiles from staff.
Check in, check out was efficient..staff there were okay but a bit dour and didnt show any interest in guests, however they did answer all our questions...a few smiles would have been nice.
Only real grumble was early morning noise from guests walking past room..some folks just dont undesrstand that just because they are up at 0700, it doesnt mean everyone else is nor do they want to be.
Glad we stayed here..comfortable, good location and while a wee bit pricey it wasnt totally unreasonable...we would go back
