Really enjoyed getting to know the other travelers by chilling in the comfortable common areas - good feng shui (lighting, furniture, all that jazz). The staff was also super friendly and I felt right at home immediately.

Room Tip: Winter: avoid the furthest 4-person room! It gets coooold at night.

Last year I decided to stay at an hostal,to verify their standard of quality,as I was involved in the past in creating the tourist association for small entrepeneurs. The experience was fantastic.Very clean, very good breakfast. They were very strict on afterhour noise not to bother anyone. The atmosphere very friendly, and as I saw new people coming in,I found them at ease in a very short time.I always take a look at the quality of mattresses and sheets. They were of the best quality in the market.Congratulations Princesa Insolente

We stayed 4 nights in a double room. The room was nicely decorated and had a spacious attached bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpfull with advising about the city and the neighbourhood surrounding the hostel. There is a lovely small garden where you can enjoy your breakfast. Breakfast itself is not really special (eggs, dulce de leche, jam, milk, juice and some bread). The hostel is located in Barrio Brasil, a nice, quiet neighbourhood with some decent food options, about a 20 minute walk from the city center.

This place was recommended to me for not being a party hostel. Expecting to get a good night sleep there, I was disappointed, as the staff didn't really seem to realise how loud they and some of the guests were - apparently the staff didn't really care about that, even though the hostel rules state that it should be quiet from 11pm on. In addition, they did not respond to an email I had sent and my impression was that of the 5 to 10 different people working there, not all really had a clue what they were doing. It's a decent place otherwise - breakfast is fine, location is nice, it's clean too but the staff kind of ruins it.

too bad if it was really loud, music should be down to a reasonable volume at midnigth for those who wnat to enjoy some wine at the terrace and for those who want to keep the party we have another hostel 2 blocks away with a main nigth bar, but sometimes it happends, some groups of people want to have fun and do not respect others sleep we apologize!

2:00AM, I'm in my bed (in the fuschia dorm) trying to sleep. It's almost impossible because of the mess I'm hearing from the courtyard of this hostel. Obviously the staff doesn't care about the noise, shouts, loudy music and drunk guys playing football in the middle of the night. Well actually I think they doesn't care about their customers at all.
Don't want to be the policeman asking people to be quiet, isn't it the job of the staff ?
Ah, one more thing : behind the frontdesk you can see a wonderfull notice with some rules to respect : one rule is to stop making noise after 11PM... Lol !

If you want to sleep in a quiet place, obviously you should find another place. Be warned !!

definately was a bad loud stay for you, well, just so you can know, as in every company there's some people braking rules, we did fire the 2 guys working with us that gave us more than 5 bad reviews around because of their drunk behavior, we are just as dissapointed as you are with non professional people I guess alcohool is always doing some trouble

We booked over the internet before arriving and were so happy with what we found. Although in the more bohemian rundown part of Santiago it is so safe with an electric locking door and 24 hour security/reception. Very cosy and fun interior and a nice courtyard to have drinks or breakfast, which is included. There were eggs, soft fresh bread and a variety of cereals and spreads. The staff are so friendly and helpful, always offering tips on where to go and speaking a variety of languages.

My only complaint was our sheets were a bit hairy but if you have a liner it's fine and when we moved to a cheaper room our sheets were ironically better! It's quiet at night and has a great TV room, wifi and hot water 24/7. It is also linked to casa Roja so you can go to bbqs there and the bar to meet other travellers.

Would definitely recommend and come back to stay!

This was our first time staying in a hostel and we were pleased with our private accommodation at the Princesa ... The location was good, we walked everywhere and always felt safe.
The staff were very friendly and spoke quite good English.. We attended a Bbq hosted by the hostel on the Wednesday which was a lot of fun and a great way to met with other guests.
Our room hadn't been cleaned very well when we arrived, rubbish from previous guests still in kitchen and unwashed dishes in the sink. Were pretty easy going tho so didn't really phase us, although it could deter others.
Overall a pretty great hostel, we would definitely stay again :)
