“We Walked Out After 1 Hour”
Reviewed 21 February 2013

We try and keep the pink dollar in the community, if we can. So when my partner and I were in Santiago this month we went there for dinner on a Thursday evening. With us there were exactly 4 diners, in total. It took 15 minutes to get a menu. The appretizer arrived 45 minutes thereafter. And so finally, 1 hour after ordering, and no entrees, we walked out. This is only the second time in my life things were so bad I have walked out of a restaurant, midmeal. They to make the place out to be a cozy high end restaurant with a fountain when you enter, and lit candles at every table. But the loud blasting techno music is a great distraction.
If the staff concerned itself more with running a restaurant than horseplay among eachother and being fixated on their cell phones things might have been better. It was terrible.

“What a Disaster”
Reviewed 28 December 2012

Our dinner on 27 December 2012 was, without doubt, our worst dining experience ever. We arrived at 9.30 pm. The restaurant was empty but the decor is fine with three small rooms available to choose from. Loud inappropriate music played throughout our stay.

There were plenty of staff but they appeared demotivated and more interested in chatting to their colleagues and with a couple of people at the bar than serving tables. Eventually, our menus arrived and we were told that several items were not available. So we ordered for three people one onion soup, one chicken caldo (soup) and one gazpacho followed by a ceviche, a steak and a pork dish.

After 15 minutes, we were advised that there was no caldo so I chose a cold ham and cheese platter instead that arrived 10 minutes later and ate slowly. It was fine. Nothing appeared for the other diners until an hour after the order was placed, when the waiter told us that neither the gazpacho nor the onion soup was available. So they skipped the starters and asked for the main courses to be served.

In summary, the ceviche was OK, the pork dish horrible and the medium rare steak well done and tough as old boots. So both meat dishes were hardly touched. The cost of the beef dish was waived but not the pork dish. For drinks, the bottled water (repeated by the waiter at the time of ordering) became a jug of tap water and we had to request our chosen wine to be served three times over half an hour before it arrived. The total bill was about USD 70, after we asked for the service charge to be removed, which included a pre-dinner beer and two pisco sours.

To say that we were disappointed would be an understatement.
