My friend and I chose to do the two day/one night camping trip while we were in Chile. The organisation and communication prior and during this trip is done really well from Tito the driver, communication with Ellen and Rose, and even Rigo.
We rode up into the mountains (with minimal horse riding experience) where we were in awe of the endless Andes. Rigo and Angelo (our guides/father and son) set up camp and made us a nice homely lunch with beers to wash it down. They encouraged us to go exploring the river and the surrounding areas whilst Angelo went fishing for trout for dinner. We came back to camp, had a bit of a siesta then played with the dogs whilst Rigo set up a delicious BBQ. Rigo and Angelo speak no english so it was a great opportunity to practice my basic spanish over a few piscos (their non-verbal communication skills are great if you don't know any spanish). I highly recommend that you camp under the stars (even if it is cloudy).
The following morning, we went for a ride higher up into the mountains with Angelo before coming back down to pack up camp and return to the chaos of Santiago.
