Five friends and I before embarking for a cruise to South America, we stayed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Santiago di Chile for two nights last month. It is a really beautiful hotel, with lovely rooms, beautiful common areas and very good service. Their reservation and concierge departments were especially helpful and nice both when we tried to book our reservations, as well as during our stay. The location of the hotel is both very central and in a nice neighbourhood, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and beautiful and all in all we enjoyed our stay in the hotel very much. Their buffet breakfast, as well as a buffet lunch they serve are both excellent. We highly recommend the Ritz Carlton.

Wonderful hotel, staff and service. The beds are to die for - plush mattress and down conforters. The service is impecable - the Ritz Carlton norm. We spent 4 days in Santiago and enjoyed our stay tremendously. Highly recommended.

Upon arrival in the sumptuous lobby, one is greeted with a welcoming Front Desk staff and a glass of champagne. We opted for the Club Floor, which provides 4 to 5 small meals and unlimited beverages throughout the day in a warm ambience.

Beautifully appointed rooms offer the guest a totally relaxing experience. Our rate included the "Bath Butler Service"; personally drawn baths at a specified time and the room set with candles, aromatherapy and rose petals - what a treat!

Breakfast buffet includes a wide range of hot and cold items, again with immeccable service. Our waiter even prepared fresh fruit juices, blended at the moment.

The rooftop pool and jacuzzi let one escape from the travails of business and international travel. How amazing to be in the pool and gaze at the Andes!

Attentive, but obtrusive service, characterizes the staff. We would return in a heartbeat!

We stayed there several times last November.

The hotel is very pleasant and in a very convenient location. The staff is very helpful.

Two warnings: (1) ask for rooms not facing the front of the hotel: they are rather noisy, because of the street traffic; (2) the basic drinks at the bar, in the ground floor, are too expensive.

Our room was lovely, the bed was incredibly comfortable & the staff were mainly fantastic. The area was very pleasant & overall we would highly recommend the hotel. The only caveat would be not to let the hotel porters call you a taxi. It took us a while to figure out, but several times we paid twice the fare for our journey from the Ritz than we were charged for the return trip from the same destination. (We once paid triple & once nearly quadruple!). It seems dishonest taxi drivers prey on hotel guests & the negative experiences detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay. The problem can be avoided by hailing taxis from the street a short distance from the hotel.

This is a high-quality hotel and while my stay there was enjoyable, it was far from memorable. The pros of this hotel are clear: good location in a clean and fairly quiet neighborhood, nice interior design and (with some qualifications) very friendly and efficient staff. Great! But all this is to be expected from any five-star hotel. Here are the cons: I was assigned a non-smoking room that however smelled from smoke. I did not see this as a problem initially since the odor was very mild. However, by the time I moved out the whole room smelled really bad (so they may have a problem with the building's structure). You pay $15 a day for the Internet (booo!); there are no extra blankets in the room; no paid movie channels on TV (bad for a business traveler); the buffet at the Club level has a rather limited selection and is a bit on the greasy side. Most new 4-star hotels in Europe or Asia can beat them on these counts. To go back to the positives: most staff are truly fantastic. The hotel must have the best bellmen and concierge in town! But beware of the ladies at the Club-level check-in, they have an attitude ...

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton from the 28th April to the 5th May 2006.

Location albeit not in the downtown area was great. One can easily catch the subway just outside of the hotel to the downtown area. In walking distance to the hotel is an abundance of excellent restaurants.

Our room on the club level was extremely comfortable as you would expect from a Ritz Carlton. The breafast and snacks in the club lounge were always impeccably well presented.

I honestly feel that anyone visiting Santiago has to stay at this hotel for the sheer comfort and luxury that it provides.
