We stayed in a lovely suite for a very reasonable price, using a diamond suite upgrade voucher. The room had an enormous jacuzzi bath and large living area and bedroom with great views over the city. The pool area was great for hanging out during the day with lots of loungers and a nice, if very cold, pool (probably because it is deep for a hotel pool). We had lunch on the outside terrace and at the Thai restaurant, both of which were delicious. We had breakfast and cocktails/snacks in the Grand Club. It didn't appear to have anything available outside of those hours (i.e. you can't grab a Coke at 3pm if you fancy one), but what was offered during the service hours was very nice and the view was similarly great. There isn't a lot in the area, but taxis into town should be pretty cheap (we were inexplicably ripped off by one which charged 13,000 on the meter to Bellavista though). Valet parking is free if you have a car. The concierge tried to arrange a trip to an observatory for us, but it was going to be $160 each plus transport, so we declined. They did arrange car hire for us at short notice for an overnight trip to Valparaiso, which turned out to be a bit of a nightmare as the hire company was a small local outfit which was quite unprofessional and unresponsive. So, avoid American Car Rental and go with one of the international firms, which would actually have been cheaper too. This wasn't the hotel's fault and they were very apologetic about the problems we had. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if in Santiago.

Room Tip: The basic suite is very good indeed if your budget will stretch to it or if you have some points to...

We stayed at this hotel in 2000, and were pleased to see that 14 years later it was still the same. Beautiful building, great pool and common area. Service was very good, despite the fact they were coping with a staff strike - peaceful but noisy protests outside all day. Hotel security was clearly present but not in an obnoxious way. The terrace is perfect for dining. It's a very nice hotel and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: rooms higher up have better views of the andes (when the smog clears)

We stayed here towards the end of our holiday in Chile. Having stayed here on business before I remembered the comfortable rooms and good breakfast. When the weather is nice as it tends to be in December you can have breakfast on the large terrace. The rooms are as large by chain hotel standards, the bathroom does not come with a walk-in-shower, but at least it is more powerful than any other we had during our three weeks in Chile.

Located on the edge of the upmarket las Condes district the hotel has large grounds which include a very large pool. The water is quite chilly though; seems like the ice old Pacific on the Central Chilean coast sets the standards here.

The Japanese restaurant is not bad if you cannot be bothered to eat out. There are numerous good restaurants in the barrios of las Condes and Vitacura that are just a few minutes away by cab. Our best experience was with Puente Fuy.

Lovely interior architecture and rooms. Beautiful large pool with semi-circular 10 foot waterfall. Spacious lobby and sitting area. A peaceful retreat. Only complaint is that check-in can be lengthly when a group arrives.

The room was nice, although not particularly spacious. It was reasonably clean. The pool was pretty, but freezing. When I say freezing, I mean painfully, ice cube freezing. There were not enough lounge chairs. There was a small playground for kids. We ordered room service; the food was adequate, nothing great. The full room service menu was not available on New Year's Eve. I wanted to order my child a simple cheese sandwich but they had to charge me $8000 pesos for a ham and cheese (hold the ham). The sandwich turned out to be disgusting. This hotel did not feel like luxury to me but it was fine.

The hotel is well- located in the Los Condes neighborhood, just a block from a large modern shopping center and many familiar North American restaurants. We had no difficulty walking in the surrounding neighborhood. The Hyatt’s pool deck and garden areas are quite pretty. We enjoyed the food in the main lounge and also the breakfast buffet. The hotel rooms are quite modern and spacious, each room offering a nice sitting area with large windows. Each room also has a well-stocked (but very expensive) mini-fridge and a digital room safe. WIFI is available in the room for $10 per day.
Our disappointment came with our choice to access the executive lounge for the additional charge of $80 per day (which also included WIFI), for part of our stay. Firstly, we travel a lot and are quite familiar with what executive lounges offer. Secondly, it was explained to us that the hotel breakfast buffet is $30 per person – so this in effect – made sense. The lounge’s food options are extremely limited at the very best. There is only so much bread and cheese you can eat….same for breakfast – same for afternoon snack…. There was very limited hot food available (if at all) only some of the time, which was disappointing and certainly not worth the additional $70 ($80-$10 WIFI). The rooms on the non-executive floors are exactly the same as those on the executive floors. The electrical outlets are NOT the same as North America’s, so come prepared.
In addition to the executive lounge disappointment, the union employees working at the hotel were on strike and made a huge racket from early in the morning till 6pm on a weekday and 10pm on the weekends! Increased hotel security ensured our safety - but the loud noise was as disturbing as the strikers’ immature behaviour – peaking when any guest would enter or exit the front doors. When we expressed our concerns to the front desk, no options or concessions were offered.
On a positive note, the hotel was very helpful, as I was not able to withdraw cash using my main Canadian TD Bank debit card in Chile, so the hotel allowed us to add $200 US to the bill and provided us with the cash (in Chilean pesos), several times. We later found that another Canadian bank’s debit card (RBC) did work in the Chilean Bank ATM machines.
