Great views of the city! But take your own lunch the food up there was pretty average. But well worth the walk up there. But you can take the cable cart that is lovely too!

“Do not miss it!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

If you are not into the religious stuff and you don't want to see the Virgin Mary on the top, you can still enjoy this place very much because this peak is the second highest point in the city and the view is fabulous. You might use a quarter of your day here if not all, I did not go to the zoo and spend about 3 hours because I used the funicular and the line was long, but Cerro San Cristóbal can be reached also by foot or by car.

“wonderful excursion”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

If you can get to the top, the view of Santiago is beautiful on a clear sunny day. If you are in good health and can walk up to the base of the Virgin statue, it is a good rewarding effort. There is a place at the top where you can buy excellent Chilean "drink" called Mote con Huesillo.
(it is considered a drink in Chile but it is made of a couple of dry peaches cooked in with barley and they are served on a tall glass with their sweet water) It is a typical item from Chile and it is served in the countryside.

“Nice view”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

It was a really warm day, there no shads there and the sun is very strong, so a tough walk. The road is mostly in sand. There's restaurant on the way where you can buy food or beverages. To reach the top, it is approximately 45-60 minuts and then you have a view of all the city. There's also a statue that is possible to visit but you have to pay. Nice view, nice walk overall.

“What a view!!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We're renting a downtown apartment so the walk to the base of this attraction was only about 25 minutes. We took the funicular half way up the mountain and stopped at the zoo for a couple of hours. Nice zoo. Then we boarded the funicular to the top of the mountain. Many many stone steps later found us at the very top. The huge statue of The Virgin dominates the top. There is a beautiful church and outdoor altar with views of Santiago below. If I were Catholic I would find out what the Mass schedule was so I could attend in this unique atmosphere.
This is well worth a half day trip. Cost was about $6.00 each in U.S. dollars.
