“Affordable Boutique”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

The lovely staff make this boutique hotel stand out. As i found elsewhere in Santiago, there was an unpretentious charm and willingness to help. When we arrived early and our room was not quite ready, they brought us (excellent)coffees as we waited in a lobby that is filled with art books and magazines. Turned out to be a very pleasant rest. The breakfast is huge and varied; you just order off the regular menu of their cafe. The charming servers knew how we liked our coffee by Day 2. Room had straight-on view of Parque Forestal. The pool on the rooftop has a small waterfall and an even better view. Room was very nice, very comfy bed. Shower took a bit of time to get warm, but then the hot water was plentiful. Also, some great web deals recently for weekends, etc.

Stayed here for two nights and definitely will be coming back! Beautiful, contemporary interior with nice, clean, quiet rooms. Located in an ideal location - along Parque Forestal, close to art museums, excellent restaurants and walking tours. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - arranged transportation - which made getting to and from easy. Highly recommend.

24hrs stay - so location was important for me…
right in front of a beautiful park where locals chill and play...
it's walking distance to all historic sights…
and more importantly to the nightlife (straight and gay) of Bellavista…
transport (e.g. undergound) also close by…

hotel itself…
amazing and super friendly staff (accommodated my super early flight out with cab, check out etc
rooms (all you need and all my 'boutique' - hate that word but you know what i mean - requirements was satisfied)
amazing view towards the park and if you are high enough also virgen cerro san cristobal...

Room Tip: - higher rooms for the view towards park

The location and rooms were very nice and a good value. Breakfast was flexible and pleasant. But the pleasant and helpful staff made the hotel exceptional. They were very friendly, helpful with questions and recommendations, and went out of their way to arrange transportation and tours that we requested at the last minute.

Fantastic hotel. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, and the manager whom we had been communicating with prior to arrival made an effort to seek us out when we arrived and introduce himself. I feel like they went the extra mile to ensure we had a pleasant stay. We were able to arrange transportation to and from the airport through the hotel for a reasonable price, and the hotel also arranged a wine tour for us that turned out to be wonderful, one of the highlights of our trip, for a price that was much less than what other wine tour companies had quoted for us.

Breakfast options were good. The rooms were modern, sleek, and clean. Common spaces were well kept. Location was excellent - neighborhood (Lastarria, I think?) was great, and it was also an easy walk to Bella Vista and other city highlights. It was also nice to be near the park, I felt this kept the hotel a bit quieter. My room faced the street, not the park, but it wasn't too noisy, and I appreciated the room had a balcony. There was also a pool on the top floor - I did not see this myself, but friends said it was very pleasant. Overall, highly recommended, I would definitely plan to stay here again if I am back in Santiago.

Isamel312 is a very nice boutique hotel in a perfect location. Half way between Santa Lucia and Bella Vista, you have all the restaurants and nightlife in walking distance. Staff is very friendly and competent. Effort is taken to give it a personal touch. Rooms are clean, reasonably spacious. WiFi is free and fast. This is already my second visit, and I'd stay here again if I came back to Santiago.

Room Tip: Views on both sides of the building have the same shape and interior. The park side has the nicer vi...

We stayed at the Hotel Ismael 312 for several days in February and loved the staff and location. The staff were very warm and helpful. The continental breakfasts were great. Our room faced the Parque Forestal and was lovely. The bed was the most comfortable we had in all of our trip (Chile and Argentina). Our cab driver from the airport and our Chilean friend had some difficulty in finding the hotel, so be sure to tell them the entire name of the street! I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone going to Santiago.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the park.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Call it Ismael 312. Some years ago — never mind how long precisely — having little in the way of design hotels, and nothing particular to interest the restless global nomad, the insular city of Santiago quietly took to the construction of a new crop of contemporary boutique hotels. Among the first fruits of this new wave of hotel construction is Ismael 312, a nine-story contemporary boutique hotel in an easy-on-the-eye modern minimalist style, just off the Parque Forestal in Santiago’s historic city center. Semi-transparent glass-walled bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, full-length windows — it’s clear Ismael 312’s proprietors have been paying attention to the interior-design conventions of the boutique-hotel world. This clean-lined look has quickly become the global standard, instantly rendering a million flowery bedspreads obsolete. Here, if you’re fortunate, you’ve got a view of the park from a private balcony; if not, you can content yourself with the pared-down simplicity of your room’s contemporary design. Don’t expect five-star extravagance — Ismael 312 is little more than a pied-a-terre. In this neighborhood, though, that’s more than enough — you’re surrounded by restaurants and picturesque old streets, not to mention the park with its selection of museums, perfectly placed to circumambulate the city of a dreamy Sabbath afternoon. ... more   less
