I stayed in the Chile Backpackers Hostel a few nights in August 2013 -- the location is spectacular (10 mins walking from a main metro stop) and is a very short walk from many bars, restaurants and clubs. Marcel, the owner, is a really cool guy, very energetic and kind, and he knows English and some Portuguese. The house is in a historic and trendy neighborhood and the house itself is beautiful. Highly recommended.
