I used this hotel for business travels and it definitely do the job. The front desk clerk spoke english very well and she was a tremendous help. Staffing, service and clean up were very friendly and efficient. The room and amenities were great and as expected for the price (paid around $140 a room).

The only gripe I have is the construction that was taking place during my stay. It was not an issues for sleeping, but the banging and general construction noise level was VERY DISTRACTING when they placed us in the 4th floor conference room. It got to the point where we had to literally be shouting at each out to hear. No bueno. We asked the crew to quiet down and within a half hour (it was also 6PM at this point), so they stopped.

All in all, highly recommend. For leisure travelers, it's a great location that's away from the super loud,busy Bella Vista, but accessible to most everything else.

We were in Santiago for only 2 days, and don't think that we could have picked a better location exploring the city and being close to the attractions. Some of the better restaurants were only blocks away. We arrived at 6:00 in the morning after an all night flight and were able to get checked into a room for a very reasonable price to catch some sleep and get cleaned up. The staff is very helpful and have a very good working knowledge of english. The even walked us to a cafe around the corner for some excellent coffee. They are doing some remodeling but doesn't seem to effect the day to day of the hotel. The breakfast the first day was excellent, but the second day at 7:00 am when they were setting up was fairly disappointing. For a short visit to the city you can't beat this location.

We spent three nights in this hotel (not consecutive ones) while traveling along Chile and Santiago was a hub in this journey. The positives:
- Hotel has definitely good location (just walking distance to Plaza de Armaz, La Cathedral, short taxi drive to calle Constitucion for a great dinner spot).
- the staff didn't see any problems when we wanted to leave our main luggage till the following stay (sometimes it was 5 days even)
The negatives:
- for check-in and check-out you need to have at least 15 minutes each time, veeeery slow process
- breakfast - staying at lower class hotels in Chile we always had better ones;
- we needed to leave earlier one day. They start to serve breakfast at 6.30. Before this time there is so called express breakfast which is tea, water and biscuits. We went there at 6.15. Everything was ready for "real" breakfast (bread, fruits, etc) so we wanted to serve ourselves (breakfast was included and paid in the rate). We were immediately asked to leave the restaurant! Even to drink tea from the express breakfast we couldn't use a table inside. We needed to sit outside...
- internet - if you have a room at 5+ floor (not mentioning about floor 15th) forget about using wifi.
- rooms are old, old furniture
- very noisy mechanical ventilation in a bathroom (at least rooms close to the lifts - our friends staying on lower floor had the same problem). Actually you cannot sleep and it is not possible to switch it off. I felt like at the airport...
- there are some mainteinance works in the hotel so there is a little space in the lobby and no bar. The breakfast is served in the conference room but there is no information about it in the elevators so we push the bottom with "restaurant". The doors opened and we saw a wall intead...

We chose Mercure as we know the chain and we wanted to have certain level of quality. But this hotel definitely doesn't have it.

He pedido a nuestro encargado de informática que revise la conexión a internet. A pesar de esto tenemos un plan de internet con un ancho de banda bastante grande.
Efectivamente nuestro hotel ya tiene siete años y es normal el desgaste de nuestras instalaciones, en una segunda etapa de nuestra remodelación, esta considerado remodelar los cuartos.
Nuestros equipos de ventilación y aire acondicionado, poseen motores turbo, para asegurar temperar, enfriar o ventilar en menos tiempo, contribuyendo así a contaminar menos nuestro planeta.
No pusimos ninguna indicación sobre el cambio del lugar de desayuno, debido a que este ha cambiado varias veces de lugar. Al momento del check-in se le indica a los huéspedes donde será servido.
