this hotel/ hostel is located in the heart of the paris/ londres district mentioned in all the tourist guides....a picturesque building in a charming neighborhood. the room was ok, high ceilings and spacious [i had a 'PREMIUM" room] wifi was good, breakfast so/so. service was a bit chaotic, but everyone was pleasant. if you want everything perfect, this is not the place but i would recommend the it for the location and value...all of el centro is an easy walk, and the metro is meters away.

Room Tip: we faced londres st and had no problem with noise on the second floor. there is no elevator

The hotel is old and would need to be refurbished. It is clean. It is located in a nice and central area. The staff is very welcoming. This is reasonable for Santiago.

We stayed only one night with a friend who was in a single room. I did not see his room, but I imagine it was a lot worse than ours because he said he had no windows.

We had a room with a window directly on the charming square beneath. We woke up with a photo shooting below our window. The room was very nice and with shared bathroom.

Although they have an exterior with great character, the cleanliness of the interior is seriously lacking. More than half the people that work there need serious customer service training. You can not make outside calls, the towels smell like they were washed with greasy kitchen ones, and the breakfast is a cold piece of bread with two slices of cheese. Not hot milk, dairy or toast.

Me and my boyfriend stayed there for 3 nights in January 2007 and we loved it.
I think what most people are missing here is the price your paying for your room. A double room was 60 bucks. The service was polite and the transport service from the airport was punctual and efficient. I can't comment on the breakfast since we never woke up on time.
The rooms are big and clean and if you compare them to the Paris Hotel (someone made a review of) you cant deny the Paris one is CRAP!, tiny rooms, TINY bathrooms (with a bathtub that actualy is not a tub but a 1x1meter square) and a horribly uncomfortable bed).
Anyway, we were completly satisfied with the quality of the service, the rooms and the fabulous location.
I most deffinetely recomend this to young couples who are looking for a nice place to stay with not much money to pay.
Remember, if youre paying 60 bucks a night you have to be realistic about what you get, and this is a place that makes no fake promises. The most important thing is you get a nice, clean and spacious place to spend the night at in a great location to enjoy the tourist attractions and night life of Santiago.
We liked it so much, we just made a reservation for another 3 nights for January again (2009).

The room we stayed in - room 201 - was at the top of the stairs next to reception and continuously noisy with a brief respite between 02:00 and 04:30. (Reception leaves the television on and there is loud chatter continuously coupled with the traffic going up & down the creaky stairs)

The hotel management agreed to change our room the following day and it all seemed perfectly amicable until, on arriving back that afternoon we were told that we could no longer have that room (because a tour group had arrived) and we were presented with an option of another non en-suite room, or back into 201.

We changed hotel at that point and it was suggested that we should pay 50% of a full nights rate because we had left our bags in reception. What a joke.

The hotel is overpriced coupled with a level of indifference that makes Faulty Towers look like the Hilton. We stayed around the corner at the Hotel Paris which was excellent, cheaper & friendlier.

We stayed there two times. Curiously, none of them in the plaza londres hotel, because we were sent to other hotel called londres 35. The first one was full, even though we had made the reservation with them directly. Anyway, both hotel are old, with little rooms and bathrooms, very noisy. They are more bad youth hostels than a three stars hotels. The breakfast was really bad, simple and poor. Although we speak spanish perfect, we could not find any help of the staff. To finish, the taxi arranged with the hotel, to go to the airport, was 15 minutes late. Without any doubt, don´t go to these hotels.
