“A must go in Santiago !!”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

This restaurant has a long experience in firied cheese "empanadas ".
Cheese empanadas are made of dough stuffed with gouda cheese and are fried for a few minutes in hot oil. They have varieties that have beef or cheese with scallops or shrimp, which are very exquisite.
My favorites are just cheese, delightful. You can also order a typical sandwiche "Italiano" with steak, tomato, avocado and mayonnaise and a good local beer to go around.
Highly recommended to satisfy hunger.

“Great cheese empanadas”
Reviewed 30 January 2013 via mobile

Have you heard about empanadas in Chile? It is not like anywhere else in the world. We Chileans like them baked and fried, and Fuente Suiza is one of the best places in town to get fried cheese empanadas. Try the plain cheese or you can order the cheese & shrimp . If you are really hungry you may be able to eat two of them. I suggest only eat one and leave room for a sandwich or hot dog. My favorite is a fricandela (homemade German style burger) with avocado and mayo. You can choose a regular or large size sandwich. Be careful with ordering large if you are not too hungry.

Fuente Suiza is always crowded so you may have to wait, but the wait is worth it. It is a place to grab a bite and keep going so do not plan a special dinner here.

“Got poisoned!”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

Sandwiches are really good but... both me and my friend (who is a local and told me that this place was among his best) got food poisoned! Ok it might have been an accident but, it should not happen!

“Best Chilean Fast Food!!...”
Reviewed 11 September 2009

I am native from Chile and I have to tell you that one of the things that I miss the most is this place. I use to go there at least once a week for lunch during high school and I never stopped going. Now, when I go to Chile I cannot miss the opportunity to go with a couple of friends to have daft beer and the AMAZING churrascos or lomitos. These are huge and amazingly tasty sandwiches, classic ones are the "Barros Luco" and "Lomito italiano". Empanadas are also great!!, I love having a "empanada de pino", which is a little unorthodox but they are awesome!. Also "ostion queso" or "camaron queso" are great choices.
If you have watched Anthony Bourdain's no reservation when He goes to Chile, you know about "Fuente Alemana". Those are the kind of sandwiches we are talking about here, but A LOT better. Fuente Suiza is the place where LOCALS go.
