“So many good options in such a small bar”
Reviewed 9 February 2013 via mobile

Normandie is named after a French cruise ship and like a vessel, to enter the bar will surely transport you to a different place, away from the traffic and noise of Providencia street. Normandie is a small bar, with separate section for non smokers. On a regular night you can find locals having dinner, tourists stoping for a beer or just people having coffee and dessert. It's menu goes from appetizers to sandwiches, with stops on some great French dishes. The cocktail selection and wine is very good and the service is fast.
You must try the French fries here, cut with a knife and fried to perfection. Check my picture. Desserts are a must to. My choice is the frangipane or the Celestine crepe.
Normandie is also a good place for lunch or a beer in the afternoon.

“Absolutely crap food”
Reviewed 30 January 2013

My salmon en pappilotte was dry, stuck to the paper, and almost burnt. When i complained the waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry, and then inquired when we went to pay the bill whether we were leaving the tip in cash or on the credit card. The chef needs to reimburse her her tip...

“Nice place to eat and Chill out”
Reviewed 12 December 2012

a french restaurant in Santiago, Chile, prices are fair, and most of the courses are good. The Moulee au vin plate is not very good....i have tried it 4 or 5 times and never has been prepared the same way....last time it was dreadful!!!
Good list of wines and good service, they have separates rooms for smokers.

“It was ok”
Reviewed 26 November 2012

We had eaten much better meals in Santiago, but this was just ok. Not necessarily bad, but not spectacular either. I had a roast beef sandwich that was so overloaded with goat cheese that it overpowered the sandwich. A lot of other people might really like Normandie, but it's just average to me.

“Lovely food, great atmosphere”
Reviewed 26 November 2012

I have visited this Bistro many times, with group of friends or on dates. It is the kind of place that makes you look good with the girls without sending you straight into bankruptcy. Small menu, sandwiches, mussels, excellent french fries, good house pate, outstanding service and a relaxed atmosphere to make you feel welcomed. The non smoking section is quite small, so make sure to call ahead.
