For our first lunch in the city we were directed to this excellent little restaurant down the street from our hotel. Even though it was a cool day we decided to sit in the small 'outdoor' garden area at the back of the restaurant. The staff were thoughtful enough to put on a couple of small heaters to take the chill out of the air. Very nice.

As we had been flying for over 14 hours, and had been up over 35 hours we weren't sure if we wanted lunch, dinner or just a snack. Our waiter was very helpful - providing some suggestions and giving us time to decide.

We started with two Cevice appetizers. One shrimp & artichoke. The other a local fish Cevice. Both were very fresh and flavourful with onions and pimento. A half bottle of Terra Noble Carmenere complemented our food.

Even with some fresh, warm buns & bread we decided we needed a little more food, so ordered the Coq au Vin to share. The kitchen thoughtfully split the meal and brought us own plates. Tender chicken, an amazing red wine gravy, tender potatoes, mushrooms & onions made up this very enjoyable dish.

With the excellent food and service I'm sure we will be back another time during this visit.

A quiet, utterly civilzed place with plenty of atmosphere and an outstanding menu and wine list. The service is pleasant and attentive. The location is unbeatable. All in all, an excellent restaurant. The warm ambiance invites you to relax and linger forever...

We dined on a quiet rear garden patio and enjoyed high-quality cuisine at a reasonable price. View the specials of the day on their blackboard.

It was a cloudy afternoon in Chile, an Easter Sunday to boot and we hoped to find a restaurant open for lunch. So we were very happy to see the tables in front of La Flaubert out, and the door open. We sat in the back of the restaurant in a small greenhouse open to a private garden. They ushered us to a small table, where several couples at different tables were enjoying lunch, the sound of different languages in a quiet space, it was truly delightful. Our waiter Nicolas brought the small blackboard to the table with all of the menu for the day. We chose coq au vin, and lomo Robespierre. (Sliced beef, with a rosemary, olive oil, green peppercorn overlay). The one thing that could have been better was not really their fault, but the cabernet sauvignon we chose had a flaw, it was undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle indicated by the telltale "fizz", to their credit they offered to replace with another immediately. The service was warm, friendly and unpretentious. They made us feel right at home. The food was well prepared and seasoned, the atmosphere and service friendly and hospitable. It was a great lunch on our last day in Chile. Oh, and the Creme brûlée was a ten!

The menu is written up daily on a blackboard and set next to your table for you to choose, and many of the dishes are a lovely mix of French and Chilean dishes. If the weather is nice sit out back in the patio, and enjoy the Santiago sun. Great service, plenty of atmosphere, and highly recommended.
