“Comfortable and Inspiring”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

We stumbled upon this hostel by chance and I was very happy with my decision to stay there. The hostel is beautifully decorated, most of the artwork was done by the previous owners. The rooms are decorated simply but nicely, they offer all amenities; a lounging area, kitchen, dining room, breakfast room, showers, and breakfast. I have to say it is one of the best hostel breakfast's I have had, with fresh fruit, coffee with milk, a croissant, and toast with avocado and marmalade. I stayed with a friend, we felt comfortable there, safe, and best of all inspired by all the beautiful artwork within the hostel that is reflective of Valparaiso itself.

Room Tip: For a quieter night ask for a room without windows facing Urriola street.

we stayed one night in a double room with private bathroom

+ big, clean, and cozy furnished room
+ nice common areas
+ good breakfast
+ free and reliable wifi
+ well situated on a nice cerro (5' walk to the plaza sotomayor, 10' uphill)

what could be improved in our view:
- nothing comes to our mind

our conclusion: recommended, we would stay here again

We felt very welcome at Hostal Nomades! It was in such a great location on Cerro Alegre! Close the elevators of Concepcion and Reina Victoria- it was easy to get around. There were so many nice restaurants and cafes (and small grocery store) very close, it was easy to grab a bite to eat. We ate a a great Spanish restaurant nearby with good tapas and paella. The Cafe del Pintor was charming too! We walked a lot in the two days in Valparaiso and we always felt our hostal was in the best location. Rooms were very clean and had comfortable beds and pillows. The artwork is all original and adds a lot of character to the hostal. Breakfast was simple but tasty, fruit, bread, pastries, coffee and juice. Thanks to the many great reviews on Trip Advisor that helped us choose this one! We were not disappointed.

Staying jn the creative buzz of Valpariso this was our place to be. In the middle of cerro Allegre, close to many good restaurants and street art this B&B is a perfect base to discover Valpo.
The house is also expedition centre for the owner's arts, so the rooms and common areas are well decorated. The breakfast is luxurious for chilian standards, the rooms very large and everything is very clean. We descided to stay longer because we loved this place and Valpo.

Really nice hostel, in a great location at Valparaiso, in Cerro Alegre.
The hostel has a unique atmosphere, you feel like being in an art museum, with a lot of beutiful paintings everywhere!!! (the owner is an artist)...
The room was really comfortable, the bed was ok and the bathroom very clean. The staff very helpful, nice and friendly.
I really recommend to stay in Nomades!

This place would be ideal for couples who appreciate art and thoughtful places and are bit higher up the food chain than back-packers. I loved it - really arty, from memory the family business was ceramic tiles in which the home you are staying in is lovingly decorated with. Bedrooms are clean as are the bathrooms. You can cook here. There are wonderful common areas to chill out in with a book or a glass of wine. I recall nice lighting from the central atrium. Great location - very close to nice (albeit "touristy") restaurants and cafes. I found the son very helpful for information on what to do/where to go etc.

I stayed here by myself after a month of travelling, staying in hostels and even camping in Argentina/Patagonia/Chile. I found it chilled out, arty and absolutely charming compared to much of what I experienced en route here. The breakfast is lovely - particularly the fresh juices prepared. Would recommend to my friends.

Room Tip: I had the twin at top of stairs - some guys came in the small hours of morning and woke me up due to...
