Cerro Concepción is one of the prettiest places I have ever been, but it is also very quirky. The rickety old ascensor takes you up the hill into lots of interweaving, narrow streets splattered with graffiti, murals and colour everywhere you go. There are lovely restaurants with terraces to sit out on as well as lots of hotels and hostels. The market is one of the better ones I have seen in Chile, selling more authentic jewellery and crafts. The hill joins to Cerro Alegre which is great for having lunch or an ice-cream. Around every corner is a colourful surprise and you can happily spend all afternoon wandering through the alleys and streets!
