“Hippie & Nostalgic vibes!”
Review of Caleta Horcon

Caleta Horcon
Reviewed 12 November 2017

This is a personal opinion since I used to go on vacation here very often as a kid so I keep precious memories from this picturesque bay. A perfect place recommended for couples and families since is a quiet and beautiful beach, not too crowded even in peak season and owner of a wonderful 70's hippie vibe like the famous "bridge of wishes" and its crafts fair. Is not an expensive destination so with a small budget you'll make it with no further complications. When thinking about food there's a couple of moms and pops restaurants that offer delicious seafood and drinks.

Horcon is a Hippie beach that is not that known but it's very beautiful. If you really enjoy nature, freedom, peace you have to go to Horcon. The restaurants are very tasty and with a lot of seafood variety. As attraction you have the "Puente de los deseos" that is the most crowded place in Horcon.

This place is located at about 40 km from Viña del Mar. It used to be a place where hippies lived. Now you can see some of them selling their handcrafts. You can also see the fishermen and fishmongers and the little boats on the beach. You can take a walk around this little town and see its houses and special architecture. There are several restaurants to have lunch.

Caleta Horcon was a hippy hang out many, many years ago. Now it has lost much of the hippy vibe and what remains is just a little tourist fishing town that is a bit stinky. VERY crowded on a holiday. Not really worth a visit. Further up the road are much nicer places such as Zapallar and Papudo. Keep moving on.. .
